TORONTO (June 10, 2022) – Ontarians overwhelmingly chose CTV News as their #1 destination for Ontario Provincial Election results, as an average audience of 655,000 viewers tuned in to the organization’s election results special ELECTION 2022 on CTV, CTV News Channel, CP24, and BNN Bloomberg, more than double that of its closest competitor.

Led by CTV News Toronto’s Nathan Downer and CP24’s Stephanie Smyth, CTV News’ ELECTION 2022 special was watched by 3.8 million unique Canadian viewers. Audiences peaked at 853,000 viewers at 10:03 p.m. ET, after the Ontario PC Party had secured a majority government. “CTV News’ exceptional live coverage of the Ontario Provincial Election was the result of a full-scale collaboration between CTV News Toronto, CTV News Channel, CP24, CTV NATIONAL NEWS, and digital teams across the organization,” said Michael Melling, Vice President, CTV News. “We’re honoured that this true team effort delivered a live special trusted by Canadians seeking timely, accurate updates throughout election night.” CTV News was also the prime source for Canadians for comprehensive election updates, voting trends, and analysis across digital news platforms.   • More than 10 million page views across CTV News’ leading slate of digital news platforms
  • More than 5 million minutes of engagement across CTV News digital news platforms
  • Increases of 57% in visits; 96% in page views; and 49% in video consumption compared to CTV News’ 2018 Ontario Provincial Election coverage
