TORONTO (November 9, 2020) – In honour of all those who have served in the Canadian Armed Forces, CTV delivers the special live broadcast REMEMBRANCE DAY 2020, this Wednesday, Nov. 11 beginning at 10:30 a.m. ET on CTV, CTV2, and CTV News Channel. Hosted in-studio by CTV’s Chief News Anchor and Senior Editor Lisa LaFlamme, the 90-minute special features the Remembrance Day commemorative ceremony from the National War Memorial in Ottawa, including live reports from CTV NATIONAL NEWS Parliamentary Reporter Annie Bergeron-Oliver. Speaking to the historical significance of Canada’s military efforts and delivering personal reflections, LaFlamme will be joined remotely by a number of heroic veterans including:

Lieutenant-General (ret’d) Roméo Dallaire, who is also an author, humanitarian, retired senator, and former Force Commander of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Rwanda
Master Corporal (ret’d) Paul Franklin, a veterans advocate who served as a medic in Afghanistan and survived a roadside explosion in 2006
Commodore (ret’d) Dr. Hans Jung, who is the former Surgeon General of the Canadian Armed Forces
Capt. (ret’d) Mary Ann Barber, a nurse practitioner who served with the Canadian Armed Forces and completed three tours in Afghanistan as a military trauma nurse

Due to restrictions on public gatherings caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, veterans and their families will not be able to attend Remembrance Day ceremonies in person this year.
