TORONTO (November 8, 2021) – CTV News honours the heroic veterans who served in the Canadian Armed Forces with CTV NEWS SPECIAL: REMEMBRANCE DAY 2021, a live, commercial-free special airing Thursday, Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. ET on CTV, CTV2, CTV News Channel, CTVNews.ca, and the CTV News app. Hosted by CTV News’ National Affairs Correspondent Omar Sachedina, along with coverage from Quebec Bureau Chief Genevieve Beauchemin and Parliamentary Correspondent Annie Bergeron-Oliver, the special unites Canadians from coast-to-coast-to-coast with Remembrance Day ceremony coverage, live from the National War Memorial in Ottawa.

The special features contributions from a number of special guests, who deliver personal reflections and pay tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of Canada’s military, including:

  • Dr. Hans Jung; former Surgeon General of the Canadian Armed Forces and founder of the Veterans’ Medical Clinic in Orleans, Ont., where he currently serves retired members of the military
  • Major-General (ret’d) Denis Thompson; veteran who served 39 years in the Canadian Army, including deployments as Commander of Canadian Special Operations Forces Command (CANSOFCOM), and Commander of NATO’s Task Force Kandahar
