TORONTO (December 23, 2020) – At the close of an extraordinary and challenging year affecting Canada and the world, CTV NATIONAL NEWS reflects on the top news stories of 2020 in the primetime special CTV NEWS: 2020 YEAR IN REVIEW, premiering Thursday, Dec. 31 at 10 p.m. ET on CTV (check local listings). CTV’s Chief News Anchor and Senior Editor Lisa LaFlamme leads a virtual panel consisting of CTV NATIONAL NEWS correspondents joining remotely from across the country and around the world as they look back on the stories they covered and the people impacted in a pandemic year that has tested so many Canadians. In addition, each of the Top 10 stories will be featured nightly on CTV NATIONAL NEWS, beginning tonight (Wednesday, Dec. 23) at 11 p.m. ET with #10: Tragedy and Triumph in Sport. The novel coronavirus tops this year’s list of stories in 2020, taking three of the Top 10 spots. Additional significant news stories making the list include: the multiple tragedies that struck Nova Scotia this year; the social justice movement and anti-racism action; the U.S. Presidential Election, and more.
