REGINA (December 31, 2025) – CTV News Regina announced tonight during CTV NEWS AT SIX that Ruth Robillard is the recipient of the 2025 Regina Citizen of the Year Award.
“Ruth Robillard is an outstanding member of our community, and her impact on education and learning is remarkable,” said J.C. Garden, Manager of Operations, Local TV & Radio and Director of News & Public Affairs Saskatchewan, Bell Media. “Her devotion to helping others is evident in her volunteer service to many Regina organizations that foster learning, inclusion, and reconciliation.” Born in Beaver Flats, Saskatchewan and raised on her family farm, Robillard was the youngest of 13 children. She is a graduate from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Education and completed her Master of Education at the University of Regina. She taught for more than three decades with the Regina Board of Education before retiring. She continued to teach and lecture for another 20 years at Gabriel Dumont Institute and Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies. Robillard has volunteered with a multitude of organizations including the Regina Metis Sports and Culture Center, Friends on the Outside, and the Archdiocese of Regina Truth and Reconciliation Committee. She has been recognized with several awards, including the Saskatchewan Seniors Mechanism Volunteer Award and YWCA Women of Distinction Award. The Regina Citizen of the Year Award presented by CTV is an annual tradition now in its 23rd year. Each November, CTV Regina accepts nominations from viewers for the Regina Citizen of the Year Award and presents the award at the end of December to an individual who exemplifies excellence in community service.About CTV News
