TORONTO (June 12, 2023) – Summer love is in the forecast as CTV Original unscripted dating series FARMING FOR LOVE is returning for Season 2. Based on Fremantle’s hit format THE FARMER WANTS A WIFE, and produced by Lark Productions in collaboration with Fremantle and in association with CTV, production is set to begin later this summer in British Columbia for a 10-episode second season of FARMING FOR LOVE. New episodes of Season 1 continue Sundays at 7 p.m. ET/PT on CTV, CTV.ca, and the CTV app. Canadian singles are encouraged to visit the official casting website at CTV.ca/farmingforlovecasting to find the farmer of their dreams, and sign up for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to find love in the country. Season 2 of FARMING FOR LOVE follows four farmers on an authentic adventure to find their soulmates. They open up their farms and their hearts to a select group of urban singles who are fully immersed to a new lifestyle and introduced to a new livelihood. On top of navigating an unfamiliar environment, they will be faced with a series of challenges, group activities, and intimate one-on-one dates with the ultimate goal of finding their one true love. FARMING FOR LOVE’s Season 2 prospective farmers include: Farmer Alex Farm: Dairy Farm Age: 23 Hometown: Agassiz, B.C. Interested in: Women Adventurous third-generation dairy farmer Alex has spent his early twenties travelling abroad and working on farms around the world. Between work and travel, he hasn’t had much time to date, never mind fall in love. But now that he’s back home and settling into his role on his family’s dairy farm, Farmer Alex is looking toward the future and ready to put down roots. This fun-loving farmer will do anything that will make a good story – and how great would it be to tell his future kids he met their mom through this once-in-a-lifetime experience?   Farmer Jessica Farm: Blueberry and Fruit Farm Age: 30 Hometown: Maple Ridge, B.C. Interested in: Men Farmer Jessica is as sweet as the fruit she picks! Working alongside her family, Farmer Jessica is the Operations Manager and resident Naturopathic Doctor at her family’s farm in Maple Ridge, B.C. Farming, fitness, and her faith are all big parts of her life, so finding a partner who is into all three would be the dream. Farmer Jessica hopes to marry and start a family in the next few years, but needs to find the right guy before she can live out her happily ever after.   Farmer Kirkland Farm: Cattle Farm and Horse Boarding Age: 35 Hometown: Rosedale, B.C. Interested in: Men Charming former rodeo champion Farmer Kirkland left the family farm to find himself in the big city – but the country life and a desire to work on his family’s ancestral land drew this second-generation farmer back. Now he’s living a life he loves, minding horses and cattle on their farm near his home community of Cheam First Nation. The dating pool of gay men in the nearby city is small, and the ones willing to give farm life a try are even smaller. This farmer is looking for a man who’s ready to settle down, saddle up, and ride into the sunset.   Farmer Erin Farm: Soil-To-Shelf Dairy Farm Age: 34 Hometown: Creston, B.C. Interested in: Men Farmer Erin is a second-generation dairy farmer who has been milking cows since she was a little girl. After her parents retired earlier this year, she took over the family operation, making her one of the only solo women in the province who runs her own soil-to-shelf dairy farm. This bubbly entrepreneur does it all, from baling hay to milking the cows to making her own artisanal cheese. She’s looking for a loving partner to share her life – and potentially some children – with on the farm.   Farmer Mischa Farm: Apiary and Orchards Age: 32 Hometown: Lillooet, B.C. Interested in: Women Farmer Mischa is a fourth-generation beekeeper and orchardist in the quaint town of Lillooet, B.C. Up until a few years ago, he was an independent, thrill-seeking skate shop owner in the city. Though raised in a big city, Farmer Mischa knew the family farm in Lillooet was where he belonged. He loves farm life, but is eager to settle down and share his homestead with a family of his own. Farmer Mischa is looking for a woman who wants the same things as him: to live in a small-town, start a family, and build a bee empire. He’s looking for his queen!   Farmer Josh Farm: Dairy Farm Age: 27 Hometown: Chilliwack, B.C. Interested in: Women Farmer Josh is a quintessential hockey-playing, cowboy-hat-wearing Canadian farmer running his family’s dairy in Rosedale, B.C. He dreams of settling down with a wife and raising kids with the same beautiful rural upbringing he had. It’s okay if his future wife isn’t attuned to country life just yet – he is more than happy to show her the ropes! Farmer Josh has his dream career, a home, and solid friends and family, but he’s missing a special lady to share it all with.   FARMING FOR LOVE is based on Fremantle’s long-running and successful hit format THE FARMER WANTS A WIFE, which has resulted in 197 weddings and 480 children to date. FARMING FOR LOVE is produced by Lark Productions in collaboration with Fremantle and in association with CTV. Ruth Nanda and Grant Greschuk are Co-Showrunners and Executive Producers on the series.
