From executive producers Ken Warwick (American Idol) and Nicolle Yaron (The Voice), RISING STAR completely reinvents the traditional singing competition as – for the first time ever – the audience has the final say of who stays and who goes home in real time. The new competition series follows a group of aspiring singers as they audition live. During the performances, viewers (including Canadians) can vote via an app to determine if the singer will advance in the competition. If the voting reaches a certain threshold, the performer moves on, and performers can see how the voting is progressing during their performance – making the feedback immediate and dramatic. Internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Josh Groban acts as the series’ host and mentor, while country music superstar Brad Paisley, pop music sensation Kesha, and hip hop artist and actor Ludacris are the panel of experts. The Rising Star App serves as the viewer’s judging tool, and puts the power directly in their hands. Viewers will decide the fate of each singer before their performance is over, as they decide who will be the next Rising Star. Available on The App Store, The Google Play Store, and The Windows store.
