Program Alert – Monday, March 30, 2015 CTV Two Programming Highlights: April 1 – 15   CTV Two springs into April with all-new episodes of THE MYSTERIES OF LAURA and LAW & ORDER: SVU, while THE VOICE begins the Live Playoff Rounds. CTV Two also delivers new episodes of CTV’s hit culinary competition series MASTERCHEF CANADA, and the sequel to the hit series THE BIBLE, A.D. THE BIBLE CONTINUES. Programming Highlights for April 1 – 15 on CTV Two and CTV GO include:
  • Kathie Lee Gifford (TODAY) guest stars as Dr. Carlin, a psychiatrist who assists with a case on THE MYSTERIES OF LAURA (April 1)
  • Winter is coming as ETALK presents a special half-hour episode that celebrates HBO’s epic fantasy series in ETALK PRESENTS: GAME OF THRONES (April 3)
  • The Top 11 home cooks show off their sweet and emotional sides in a Mystery Box Challenge where they have to bake and decorate cakes that express something about themselves on MASTERCHEF CANADA (April 4)
  • THE VOICE Live Playoff Rounds begin and the artists compete for a chance at a spot on the Live Shows (April 6)
  • A measles outbreak stalls Barba’s (Raúl Esparza) efforts to arrest the student responsible for posting pornographic images of a 15-year-old girl on LAW & ORDER: SVU (April 8)

Wednesday, April 1 8 p.m. – THE MYSTERIES OF LAURA – “The Mystery of the Sunken Sailor” – NEW EPISODE Laura (Debra Messing) dodges her birthday while probing the murder of a sailor, and Billy (Laz Alonso) is forced to work alongside a headstrong naval investigator. Kathie Lee Gifford (TODAY) guest stars as Dr. Carlin, a psychiatrist who assists with the case.  Thursday, April 2 8 p.m. – CTV Two MOVIE: AUSTIN POWERS THE SPY WHO SHAGGED ME – MOVIE PREMIERE Dr. Evil (Mike Myers) is back…and has invented a new time machine that allows him to go back to the 60’s and steal Austin Powers’ (Mike Myers) mojo, inadvertently leaving him “shagless”.  Friday, April 3 7:30 p.m. – ETALK PRESENTS: GAME OF THRONES – SPECIAL PRESENTATION Winter is coming as ETALK presents a special half-hour episode that celebrates HBO’s epic fantasy series, GAME OF THRONES. ETALK reporter Devon Soltendieck takes fans deep inside the series with features that include: interviews with cast members Kit Harington, Alfie Allen, Sophie Turner, Liam Cunningham, and more, plus introductions to Season 5 newcomers Deobia Oparei, Alexander Siddig, Jessica Henwick, and Rosabell Laurenti Sellers; a behind-the-scenes look at filming locations including Croatia, Ireland, and Iceland; exclusive sneak peeks of the new season; and much more. GAME OF THRONES Season 5 premieres Sunday, April 12 at 9 p.m. ET/MT on HBO Canada. Saturday, April 4 7 p.m. – MASTERCHEF CANADA – “No Piece of Cake” – NEW TO CTV TWO The Top 11 home cooks face a sweet but emotional Mystery Box Challenge that requires them to bake and decorate birthday cakes that express something about themselves. Then, a dramatic twist gives two home cooks a strategic advantage in the Elimination Challenge, where they assign their competitors challenging ‘odd couple’ ingredients. 8 p.m. – THE 2015 JUNO AWARDS – TWO HOURS – ENCORE BROADCAST In an encore broadcast from Hamilton’s FirstOntario Centre, THE 2015 JUNO AWARDS celebrates the best in Canadian music, honouring the artistic and technical achievements of artists and bands nationwide. Hosted by Jacob Hoggard, lead singer of the JUNO Award-winning band HedleyTHE 2015 JUNO AWARDS features performances by 2015 Canadian Music Hall of Fame Inductee Alanis Morissette, Arkells, deadmau5, Hedley, Kiesza, Lights, MAGIC!, Sam Roberts Band, Shawn Mendes, and The Weeknd.  Monday, April 6 8 p.m. – THE VOICE – “THE LIVE PLAYOFFS, NIGHT 1” – TWO HOURS – NEW EPISODE The remaining artists perform in front of coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera, and Pharrell Williams for their chance at a spot in the Live Shows. Tuesday, April 7 8 p.m. – THE VOICE – “THE LIVE PLAYOFFS, NIGHT 2” – TWO HOURS – NEW EPISODE The Live Playoffs continue as a whole new group of hopefuls perform in front of coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera, and Pharrell Williams in the hopes of securing a spot in the Live Shows.  Wednesday, April 8 8 p.m. – THE VOICE – “THE LIVE PLAYOFFS, RESULTS” – NEW EPISODE – SPECIAL DAY The Top 20 artists await America’s vote, with the Top 2 performers from each team moving through to the Live Shows. Coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera, and Pharrell Williams also have the chance to save one remaining artist from their team. 9 p.m. – LAW & ORDER: SVU – “GRANTING IMMUNITY” – NEW EPISODE Pornographic photos of a 15-year-old girl from her house party quickly circulate around her Tribeca high school and go viral, and Barba’s (Raúl Esparza) efforts to arrest the student responsible for posting the images are stalled when several suspects fall victim to a fast-moving measles outbreak. When Benson’s (Mariska Hargitay) foster son also catches the illness, she investigates a group of mothers who may have falsified their children’s medical records. Meanwhile, Amaro (Danny Pino) receives some distressing news about his son. Thursday, April 9 8 p.m. – CTV MOVIE: AUSTIN POWERS IN GOLDMEMBER – MOVIE PREMIERE Upon learning that his father (Michael Caine) has been kidnapped, Austin Powers (Mike Myers) must travel to 1975 and defeat the aptly named villain Goldmember (Mike Myers) – who is working with Dr. Evil (Mike Myers). Friday, April 10 9 p.m. – SHARK TANK – NEW EPISODE A mom from Atlanta, GA has the solution to the lost pacifier problem; a beekeeper from Portland, OR wants the Sharks to invest in his hives to make money and better the planet; a Palm Beach, FL entrepreneur sells customized stuffed animals; and two men from Chicago, IL and Indianapolis, IN tout their super-comfortable lightweight running shoes. Saturday, April 11 7 p.m. – MASTERCHEF CANADA – “Wedding on the Waves” – NEW TO CTV TWO The home cooks face their biggest team challenge yet: catering a beautiful Harbour Cruise wedding. They are tasked with creating stunning French-inspired appetizers and main dishes for the bride, groom, and 70 wedding guests. Back in the MASTERCHEF CANADA kitchen, the losing team faces a Pressure Test that stars another French specialty – a technique-driven dessert that separates at least one home cook from their culinary dream. Sunday, April 12 8 p.m. – A.D. THE BIBLE CONTINUES – “The Tomb is Open” – NEW TO CTV TWO –  ENCORE BROADCAST High Priest Caiaphas (Richard Coyle, The Food Guide to Love) and Governor Pilate (Vincent Regan, THE ROYALS) crucified Jesus (Juan Pablo di Pace, Mamma Mia!) to restore order in Jerusalem. For Peter (Adam Levy, Before I Go to Sleep) and the disciples it is their darkest hour.  9 p.m. – A.D. Meanwhile, Elka (Betty White) gets carried away with some new-found power. 9:30 p.m. – ANGER MANAGEMENT – “Charlie and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Thanksgiving” – NEW EPISODE Charlie (Charlie Sheen) almost destroys Ed’s (Barry Corbin) marriage and Jordan (Laura Bell Bundy) hits on Nolan (Derek Richardson).
