Dawn of Trump Era Nets Record Audiences for Talk Shows on HBO Canada

TORONTO (February 24, 2017) – Final data from Numeris confirms that HBO’s weekly talk shows REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER and LAST WEEK TONIGHT WITH JOHN OLIVER have garnered record-breaking audiences for their new seasons this year on HBO Canada. Canadians are tuning in to watch noted provocateurs Maher and Oliver comment on the new American political climate under the Trump administration. After four weeks, the average audience for Season 15 of REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER is 404,000 viewers, a 73% increase over Season 14 and the highest audiences ever for the series. Meanwhile, the Season 4 premiere of LAST WEEK TONIGHT WITH JOHN OLIVER on Sunday, Feb. 12 at 11 p.m. was the most-watched episode of the series ever on HBO Canada, with an average audience of 403,000 viewers, double the average audience of the Season 3 premiere.
