TORONTO (April 27, 2023) – With spring in full bloom, Discovery is marking the season with a nationwide free preview on its complete family of channels, including: Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Discovery Velocity, Discovery Science, and Investigation Discovery. Featuring an exhilarating lineup of new and returning series, including the debuts of Discovery original series, BUSH WRECK RESCUE (May 17) and EAST HARBOUR HEROES (May 29), the multi-channel free preview begins Thursday, May 4 and runs until Tuesday, May 30.
Also featured during the free preview is the new docuseries MARITIME MASTERS: EXPEDITION ANTARCTICA (May 19), Animal Planet’s PETS & PICKERS (May 6), and the ID original series, SOMEBODY’S HIDING SOMETHING (May 12).
Additionally, as part of the freeview, viewers can access select fan-favourite series and seasons on CTV.ca and the CTV App, including Discovery’s GOLD RUSH, Investigation Discovery’s BODY CAM, Animal Planet’s DR. - MARITIME MASTERS: EXPEDITION ANTARCTICA showcases life onboard Scenic Eclipse, the world’s first discovery yacht operated by the cruise line, Scenic. From gastronomic cuisine, and personalised in-suite butler services; to soaring above by helicopter and diving deep below in a custom-designed submarine, MARITIME MASTERS takes viewers on a journey to some of the world’s most pristine and culturally rich travel destinations across seven continents, including Antarctica, delivering life-changing travel experiences. - EAST HARBOUR HEROES is a saltwater-soaked journey to St. John’s, N.L., where a vibrant community of tough individuals battle the rugged coast and the North Atlantic Ocean to live and work on the edge of the world. From brutal storms, high winds, and changing fish populations, each day brings a new challenge to commercial fishers, stevedores, crane operators, welders, and tugboat operators, and these warriors are determined to thrive – no matter what Mother Nature throws at them. The series premieres Monday, May 29 at 10 p.m. ET.
- Motivated by extraordinary compassion, and a singular belief that all animals deserve treatment, the heartfelt PETS & PICKERS reveals how the Regional Animal Protection Society (RAPS) Animal Hospital works tirelessly to offer low-income pet families access to top healthcare. To fund these treatments, RAPS has a unique solution: their thrift store. An energetic and dedicated group of animal loving “pickers” comb through donated mystery bins containing abandoned storage locker items, all money raised goes to pay for vet care and lifesaving surgeries. It’s a one-of-a-kind “pets and pickers” relationship with an uplifting mission: to help animals and their people. Season 2 of PETS & PICKERS debuts Saturday, May 6 at 8 p.m. ET.
