TORONTO (October 25, 2013) –DAILY PLANET teams up with the planet’s most daring adventurers and pioneers as Canada’s favourite science show breaks records –Guinness® and otherwise – all-week long during “Race To…Be First” Week, beginning Monday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. ET on Discovery. Co-hosts Ziya Tong and Dan Riskin count down the fastest, deepest, biggest, edgiest, coldest, tiniest, and craziest attempts to be first – and make history in the process.

Coldest – Kilimanjaro in Shorts
At a height of almost 6,000 meters – where elements go from tropical to arctic, and oxygen is in short supply – Kilimanjaro is the tallest free-standing mountain in the world. DAILY PLANET treks along with seasoned adventurers as they push the boundaries of human nature by climbing this monster in only three days, wearing only shorts.
Craziest – Mean Mower
It cuts the grass at lightning speed, and can reach 100 km/h in under four seconds – oh, and is going for the world land speed record for lawn tractors!
