FEBRUARY 17 – PAR-LAY: THE FRED VANVLEET STORY *Documentary Premiere*

• PAR-LAY: THE FRED VANVLEET STORY, a documentary from UNINTERRUPTED CANADA profiling the inspiring story of the Toronto Raptors star, is available on Thursday, Feb. 17. The documentary, which premieres today on TSN, TSN.ca, and the TSN app at 7 p.m. ET, looks back at VanVleet’s time growing up in Rockford, Illinois; the heartbreaking challenges he faced avoiding the streets; and his path to becoming a nationally ranked NCAA recruit and one of the NBA’s top point guards.

  FEBRUARY 18 – HBO’s PAINTING WITH JOHN *Season 2 Premiere*

• PAINTING WITH JOHN, written, directed by, and starring painter and musician John Lurie, debuts its second season on Friday, Feb. 18 at 11 p.m. ET.  Part meditative tutorial, part fireside chat, Season 2 of PAINTING WITH JOHN introduces Cowboy Beckett, and combines stunning images of Lurie’s paintings, original music, and irreverent point-of-view on topics such as tapping into one’s childlike artistic side, his overall ambivalence toward fame, and more. The series follows a weekly release schedule, with new episodes dropping Fridays at 11 p.m. ET.

  FEBRUARY 21 – AILEY *Documentary Premiere*

• Many know the name Alvin Ailey, but how many know the man? Ailey’s commitment to searching for truth in movement resulted in pioneering, and enduring choreography that centres on African American experiences. Director Jamila Wignot’s resonant biography grants artful access to the elusive visionary who founded one of the world’s most renowned dance companies, the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. AILEY premieres Monday, Feb. 21.

  FEBRUARY 20 – HBO’s LAST WEEK TONIGHT WITH JOHN OLIVER *Season 9 Premiere*

• HBO’s LAST WEEK TONIGHT WITH JOHN OLIVER returns for its ninth season Sunday, Feb. 20 at 11 p.m. ET. Comedian John Oliver satirically covers the week in news, politics, and current events in this Emmy^®-winning variety series. LAST WEEK TONIGHT WITH JOHN OLIVER follows a weekly release schedule, with new episodes airing live on Sunday nights at 11 p.m. ET, and on-demand the following morning.

  FEBRUARY 23 – HBO’s FREDERICK DOUGLASS: IN FIVE SPEECHES *Documentary Premiere*

• Inspired by David Blight’s Pulitzer Prize winning biography, “Frederick Douglass: Prophet of Freedom,” the HBO documentary FREDERICK DOUGLASS: IN FIVE SPEECHES brings to life the words of America’s most famous anti-slavery activist. Acclaimed actors Nicole Beharie (Miss Juneteenth), Colman Domingo (EUPHORIA), Jonathan Majors (LOVECRAFT COUNTRY), Denzel Whitaker (The Great Debaters), and Jeffrey Wright (WESTWORLD) draw from five of Douglass’ legendary speeches, to represent a different moment in the tumultuous history of 19^th century America, as well as a different stage of Douglass’ long and celebrated life. Famed scholars David Blight, Henry Louis Gates, Jr. and others provide context for the speeches, and, along with André Holland’s (Moonlight) readings from Douglass’ autobiographies, remind us that Frederick Douglass’ words about racial injustice still resonate deeply today. The documentary streams Wednesday, Feb. 23 at 9 p.m. ET.
