MUST-WATCH TITLES FOR FEBRUARY Cupid’s arrow hits the mark this February as CTV Throwback offers free streaming of rom-com series CUPID, starring Jeremy Piven (ENTOURAGE) and Paula Marshall (EUPHORIA), as well as Emmy® Award-winning drama series FAMILY, starring James Broderick (THE LOVE BOAT) and Sada Thompson (CHEERS). The period drama tells the coming-of-age story of a mother and her four daughters growing up in New England during the Civil War who confront growing pains, financial shortages, family tragedies, and romantic rivalries, based on Louisa May Alcott’s novel of the same name. Based on Jane Austen’s classic novel, Sense and Sensibility tells the story of the Dashwood sisters, sensible Elinor (Emma Thompson) and passionate Marianne (Kate Winslet), whose chances at marriage seem doomed by their family’s sudden loss of fortune. After moving to the country they encounter well-intentioned suitors who are trapped by the strict rules of society and the conflicting laws of desire. Oddball comedy The Opposite of Sex, dropping 27, sees troubled 16-year-old Dedee (Christina Ricci, Addams Family Values) cause havoc in the lives of everyone she encounters, including her gay half-brother Bill (Martin Donovan, HOMELAND) and his boyfriend after entwining them in a twisted love triangle. LOVE IS IN THE AIR Launching Jan. 31, CTV.ca’s Love Is In The Air Hub sets the perfect mood for Valentine’s Day, offering a variety of romantic movies including comedy Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist; star-studded dark comedy Punch-Drunk Love, featuring Adam Sandler (Big Daddy), Emily Watson (CHERNOBYL), and Philip Seymour Hoffman (The Master); Quentin Tarantino’s romantic crime film True Romance; and more.
