Highlights This Week
  • The high-profile, buzzed-about documentary FRAMING BRITNEY SPEARS comes to Canada exclusively on Crave on Friday, Feb. 26. Directed by Samantha Stark, the documentary re-examines the pop icon’s prolific career and offers a new assessment of the movement rallying against her court-mandated conservatorship, capturing the unsavoury dimensions of the American pop-star machine. Crave is also set to be the home of THE NEW YORK TIMES PRESENTS documentary series, which FRAMING BRITNEY SPEARS is a part of. THE NEW YORK TIMES PRESENTS series debuts on Crave in March and is comprised of eight documentaries which are driven by the unparalleled journalism and insight of The New York Times.

  • RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE: CORONA CAN’T KEEP A GOOD QUEEN DOWN tells the story of how the show taped its historic thirteenth season amid the coronavirus pandemic. The new, behind-the-scenes documentary begins streaming Friday, Feb. 26 at 9:30 p.m. ET and captures the raw emotion surrounding the extraordinary experience; from the combination of hope and anxiety of the early days, to creative challenges prepping and executing the show, and an ultimate sense of celebration and gratitude. The documentary features vulnerable interviews with the queens, never-before-seen footage, casting reels, and striking photography from the set.

  • Streaming Friday, Feb. 26, political comedy-drama IRRESISTIBLE follows a Democratic strategist who helps a retired veteran run for mayor in a small, conservative Midwest town. Directed and written by Jon Stewart (THE DAILY SHOW), IRRESISTIBLE stars Steve Carell (THE MORNING SHOW), Rose Byrne (Neighbors), Chris Cooper (The Bourne Identity), and Brent Sexton (GOD FRIENDED ME).

  • Part two of the critically-acclaimed, controversial HBO docuseries, ALLEN V. FARROW, streams Sunday, Feb. 28 at 9 p.m. ET. Described as “…a comprehensive, convincing and ultimately devastating documentary” by the Los Angeles Times; “compelling” by Vulture and “significant” by The Globe and Mail, the series goes behind the years of sensational headlines to reveal the private story of the accusation of sexual abuse against Woody Allen involving his 7-year-old daughter with Mia Farrow.

  • From executive producer Stephen Colbert, and directed by Frank Oz, the 90-minute special explores new ways of seeing the unseeable, as memories from yesterday, inexplicable events witnessed today, and secrets imagined for tomorrow all blend together, creating a perpetual paradox of a show. Grounded by writer, performer, and magician Derek DelGaudio’s steady hand, IN & OF ITSELF is as awe-inspiring as it is intimate, crafting a singular viewing experience that transcends the stage. Hailed by celebrity fans around the world, Hugh Jackman says, “I’ve never seen anything like it”; Patton Oswalt praises, “this is something that can’t be over-hyped…your mind will be blown”; and Neil Patrick Harris describes it as, “a masterclass in storytelling, a performance on a whole other level.” DEREK DELGAUDIO’S IN & OF ITSELF, lands on Crave on Monday, March 1.

  • Season 1 of STARZ’s STEP UP: HIGH WATER premieres March 5. The series focuses on several ambitious young dancers in a contemporary performing arts school in Atlanta. Sage Odom (Ne-Yo) is the legendary founder of Atlanta’s famed High Water Performing Arts School. Collette (late Naya Rivera), is a former dancer turned High Water administrator whose passion for her students is only matched by her history with Sage, and secrets of her own. Dancers “Janelle” (Lauryn McClain) and “Tal” (Petrice Jones), are twins who are uprooted from suburban Ohio to live with their Uncle Al (Faizon Love). As the pair settle into their new home, a new school, and a new life, they face big challenges. Season 2 of the series begins rolling out on Crave following Season 1, and Season 3 will be coming next year. STEP UP: HIGHWATER follows a weekly release schedule, with new episodes dropping Fridays.
