FERRELL TAKES THE FIELD (Comedy Special)
Premieres Saturday, Sept. 12 at 10 p.m. ET/MT
From Funny Or Die, in partnership with Major League Baseball,
FERRELL TAKES THE FIELD is a one-hour comedy special that covers the comedian’s one-of-a-kind day last March 12, when he took the field at 10 different positions for 10 different teams in five spring training games at Cactus League ballparks in Arizona. Dedicating the special to the fight against cancer through the charity
Cancer For College, Ferrell is also honouring the historic feat of
Bert Campaneris, who on Sept. 8, 1965 in only his second major league season, went 0-for-3 playing all nine positions for the Kansas City Athletics in a game against the California Angels.
FERRELL TAKES THE FIELD is executive produced by Will Ferrell, in association with Gary Sanchez Productions, FUNNY OR DIE’s Mike Farah and Joe Farrell, and Stuart Miller, and directed by Brian McGinn. For a look at

DOLL & EM, Season 2 (Comedy Series)
Premieres Sunday, Sept. 13 at 10:30 p.m. ET/MT
A bittersweet, intimate portrait of female friendship, written by and starring real-life best friends Emily Mortimer (THE NEWSROOM) and Dolly Wells (
Bridget Jones’s Diary), HBO’s half-hour comedy returns for a six-episode second season. Starring Mortimer and Wells as fictionalized versions of themselves, the second season follows Doll and Em as they write an off-Broadway play together in an effort to do something creative on equal footing. They even manage to hoodwink Evan Rachel Wood (
The Wrestler) and Olivia Wilde (VINYL) into appearing in it. After packing up her life in London, Doll has moved in to Em’s Brooklyn basement, only to find that living in the lap of her friend’s family is surprisingly lonely. Meanwhile, their play is jeopardized when Em gets cast in a Hollywood action thriller opposite Ewan McGregor (
Salmon Fishing in the Yemen) and threatens to abandon their passion project. Season 2 is directed by Azazel Jacobs and produced by Alessandro Nivola with Kevin Comer under Nivola and Mortimer’s King Bee label. BAFTA-winner Andrew Eaton executive produces along with Lucy Lumsden, the show’s commissioner for Sky.
DOLL & EM is an original production from U.K. broadcaster BSkyB and has just aired on Sky Living in the U.K. For a look at

THE LEFTOVERS, Season 2 (Drama Series)
Premieres Sunday, Oct. 4 at 9 p.m. ET/MT
Created by Damon Lindelof (LOST) and acclaimed novelist Tom Perrotta (Academy Award
® nominee for
Little Children),
THE LEFTOVERS returns for a second season. After last season’s elaborate Memorial Day initiative by the Guilty Remnant plunged Mapleton into chaos, Season 2 finds many searching for a fresh start. Kevin Garvey (Justin Theroux,
Wanderlust) has retired from his post as chief of police of Mapleton and is moving his new family to Texas. With him is Nora Durst (Carrie Coon,
Gone Girl), who’s discovered new purpose in caring for the baby she found on Kevin’s doorstep and welcomes leaving behind Mapleton and the incredible tragedy she suffered there. Equally eager to leave the town she grew up in and the friends she made there is Kevin’s daughter, Jill (Margaret Qualley,
Palo Alto). Upon their arrival in Jarden, Texas, the newly formed Garvey family meet their neighbors, the Murphys: John (Kevin Carroll: LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT) and Erika (Regina King, AMERICAN CRIME) and their teenage twins, Evie (Jasmin Savoy Brown, BROOKLYN NINE-NINE) and Michael (Jovan Adepo, BLOOD RELATIVES). The series also stars Amy Brenneman (PRIVATE PRACTICE), Christopher Eccleston (HEROES), Liv Tyler (
The Lord of the Rings trilogy), and Ann Dowd (MASTERS OF SEX).
The first season of
THE LEFTOVERS was based on Tom Perrotta’s best-selling novel of the same name. In the second season, the series expands on the novel’s original concept of The Rapture, continuing to explore the ways ordinary people react to inexplicable events. Click
