TORONTO (February 14, 2013) – TSN Radio 1050 Toronto today announced former Toronto Maple Leaf Jeff O’Neill will join the station as co-host of TSN 1050’s Toronto Maple Leafs pre- and post-game shows. O’Neill will work with veteran Toronto broadcaster Jim Tatti on TSN Radio 1050’s slate of live Leafs games.
O’Neill debuts as official co-host tonight before two of his former teams face off on TSN 1050’s pre-game coverage of the Toronto Maple Leafs @ Carolina Hurricanes game at 6 p.m. ET.
“Growing up and playing minor hockey in the GTA and playing in front of Leafs fans at Air Canada Centre, I know exactly how passionate fans are in this market,” said O’Neill. “This is an exciting time in the evolution of the team, and I can’t wait to be part of all of the action – and giving my two cents from this side of the microphone.”
O’Neill spent 12 years playing in the NHL with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Carolina Hurricanes and Hartford Whalers. The King City native played hockey in the GTHL. O’Neill is very active on Twitter at @odognine2.
“Jeff is a fresh new voice on the local radio scene who can speak extensively about all of the action on and off the ice,” said Robert Gray, Program Director, TSN Radio 1050. “Anyone who follows Jeff on Twitter knows he is not afraid to mix it up and speak his mind on pretty much any subject.”
TSN Radio is an official broadcaster of the Toronto Maple Leafs with 24 games this season.
