“We are proud to be exclusive partner of this incredible two-day country music extravaganza, and look forward to bringing the best in country to Southwestern Ontario again in July 2016,” said Al Smith, Program Director, Today’s Country, BX93. “Once again, Brad Jones and Jones Entertainment Group have put together a truly outstanding lineup of acts.”
Paisley is a critically acclaimed singer, songwriter, guitarist and entertainer whose talents have earned him numerous awards, including three Grammy® Awards, two American Music Awards, 14 Academy of Country Music Awards, and 14 Country Music Association Awards, including Entertainer of the Year. He has been a proud member of the Grand Ole Opry since 2001, and has written or co-written 20 of his 23 #1 singles with the first being his 1999 hit “He Didn’t Have To Be” and his most recent, “Perfect Storm,” from his chart topping 2014 album Moonshine in the Trunk.
Born in 1981, Owen initially pursued a career as a professional golfer, winning his first tournament at 15 years old. He took up the guitar after an injury left him unable to golf, and eventually made his way from the college campus bar circuit before striking out for Nashville. In early 2006, he released his debut single “Yee Haw” which peaked at #16 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and served as the lead single for his debut album, Startin With Me.
Canadian country rock and country singer-songwriter Smith released his solo debut album Jumped Right In in 2012, and was nominated as Country Album of the Year at the 2013 Juno Awards. This year, Smith won the Juno Award for Country Album of the Year and Canadian Country Music Award Album of the Year for Lifted, his latest album.
Rock the Park was created by JEG to bring hope and peace to children living with the genetic disorder Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD), a progressive disease that significantly shortens the lifespan of those diagnosed. In the past 12 years, JEG, in association with community partner Bethany’s Hope Foundation and Rock the Park fans, have raised more than $2.2 million dollars toward MLD research. In 2016, as Bethany’s Hope Foundation turns its focus to a national awareness campaign, JEG welcomes Rock the Park partners
Make-A-Wish® Southwestern Ontario,
Big Brothers Big Sisters of London and Area,
Children’s Health Foundation, and
Western Football – four local organizations committed to helping JEG continue its tradition of supporting local charities.
