9 p.m. – TRUE BLOOD
Episode 8 of 10 from the sixth season of TRUE BLOOD. Sookie (Anna Paquin) faces a major dilemma in deciding whether to broker a deal between Warlow (Rob Kazinsky) and Bill (Stephen Moyer). In vamp camp, Jason (Ryan Kwanten) gets to know Violet (Karolina Wydra), while Sarah (Anna Camp) goes to extremes to keep Tru Blood flowing. Alcide (Joe Manganiello) makes a decision that will impact the futures of Nicole (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) and Sam (Sam Trammell).

Episode 4 of 9 from the second season of THE NEWSROOM. Maggie (Alison Pill) tries to convince Rebecca (Marcia Gay Harden) that she’s fine following her shattering trip to Africa with Gary (Chris Chalk). An Occupy Wall Street protester with a Black Op lead refuses to cooperate with Neal (Dev Patel) and Jerry (Hamish Linklater) after an on-air interview with Will (Jeff Daniels) goes poorly. Jim (John Gallagher, Jr.) lands Hallie (Grace Gummer) a one-on-one, but gets heat from Mac (Emily Mortimer) as a result.

9 p.m. – CLEAR HISTORY – *Premiere*
Larry David stars as a marketing executive at a start-up electric car company who gives up his ten percent of the business after a petty argument with his boss. The company then makes billions of dollars, destroying his life and leaving him publicly humiliated. Ten years later, after changing his name and moving to a small island off the Massachusetts coast, all is well – until something from the past threatens his new life. Also starring Jon Hamm, Bill Hader, Philip Baker Hall, Kate Hudson, Michael Keaton, Danny McBride, Eva Mendes, Amy Ryan and J.B. Smoove.

Episode 9 of 10 from the sixth season of TRUE BLOOD. A desperate Bill (Stephen Moyer) tries to ferry Warlow (Rob Kazinsky) away from the faerie plain, but Sookie (Anna Paquin) is having none of it. Meanwhile, Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) arrives at vamp camp, looking to inflict serious human damage. In Bon Temps, friends and family take emotional turns remembering a fallen neighbour. Bill feels the pull of Lilith’s (Jessica Clark) sirens.

Sloan (Olivia Munn) phases from humiliation to rage following a revenge posting. The newsroom traverses the slippery slope separating fact from fiction.

AMERICANS IN BED features candid interviews with ten American couples – captured in the comfort of their own beds – as they openly discuss sex, infidelity and love. From young New Yorkers who have split up 26 times, to spouses in their 90s who have been married 71 years, this touching and funny film offers intimate insights into what makes or breaks a relationship.
Friday, August 16
9 p.m. – STRIKE BACK – *Season 3 Premiere*
Season three premiere of STRIKE BACK. In the new season, the stealth counterterrorism unit Section 20 pursues a deadly terrorist network from Colombia to Lebanon to Eastern Europe, uncovering deadly plots that threaten the West. The team tracks the elusive terrorist al-Zuhari and his well-financed drug cartel partners as they target European and American interests, both at home and abroad, including Section 20 itself. As they often must do, the Section 20 team is forced to resort to extraordinary measures to protect the greater good, making some members question their future with the unit.

HBO BOXING AFTER DARK presents a live tripleheader with Daniel Geale vs. Darren Barker in a 12 round middleweight title bout, along with Nathan Cleverly vs. Sergey Kovalev, and Jonathan Romero vs. Kiko Martinez.

Episode 6 of 9 from the second season of THE NEWSROOM. Mac and Charlie score a key witness, a retired Marine general, in their attempt to corroborate Jerry’s Operation Genoa story. Will follows Nina’s (Hope Davis) lead to soften his image by making an impromptu appearance on a morning talk show. Jim gets unexpected company during his reunion with Hallie, who’s in town to cover a Romney rally.

Episode 7 of 9 from the second season of THE NEWSROOM. Through depositions with the newsroom staff, Rebecca pieces together the events that led to ACN’s fateful decision to go forward with Jerry’s special report on Operation Genoa – as well as the post-air revelations that undermined its credibility. The repercussions threaten to ruin “News Night” while eclipsing breaking news during another 9/11 anniversary.
