A critical and ratings success in the U.K., where The Telegraph named it the best television show of 2010, the HBO adaptation of GETTING ON is set in the women’s extended-care facility of a Long Beach hospital. The series follows the daily lives of the unit’s nurses, doctors, and administrators. Working in a system desperate for an overhaul, the anxious staff members are played by three-time Emmy®-award winner Laurie Metcalf (THE BIG BANG THEORY), Alex Borstein (FAMILY GUY), Niecy Nash (RENO 911!), and Mel Rodriguez (COMMUNITY). This dark medical comedy offers viewers a brutally candid and quietly compassionate look into the realities of caring for the elderly. The series was created by Mark V. Olsen and Will Scheffer, creators and executive producers of HBO’s smash hit BIG LOVE.
JA’MIE: PRIVATE SCHOOL GIRL follows eponymous school captain Ja’mie during the last few months of her final year of school, far removed from the grounds of Summer Heights High and back on the lush manicured lawns of Hillford Girls Grammar School. Returning to her private school roots, the series highlights the trials and responsibilities that come with being the “most well-known” girl on campus, including her academic and charity work, social life and relationships with family. The series is produced by Lilley and his producing partner, Laura Waters, who previously teamed up for SUMMER HEIGHTS HIGH and ANGRY BOYS.
In Eastern Canada, episodes are available in High Definition on TMN GO and HBO Canada OnDemand.
In Western Canada, episodes are available in High Definition on HBO Canada HD; on demand, via mobile and online with participating service providers.
