TORONTO (November 11, 2021) – CP24 and CHUM 104.5 are partnering once again to deliver the annual CP24 CHUM CHRISTMAS WISH toy drive campaign, launching tomorrow, November 12, 2021. Helping to make children’s wishes come true for a 55th year, the city-wide charitable initiative runs through Friday, Dec. 24 at noon. Viewers and listeners are encouraged to contribute by making a financial donation or dropping off a new, unwrapped toy to the following locations:
  • The CP24 CHUM CHRISTMAS WISH Warehouse (1366 Blundell Road, Mississauga)
  • Dymon Storage: Accepting toy donations beginning Monday, November 15th
    • 285 Taunton Road E, Oshawa
    • 1460 The Queensway, Etobicoke
    • 8901 Airport Road, Brampton
  • Online at TheWish.ca
  • Via text, by texting WISH to 30333 to donate either $10, $20, or $25
The annual Wish campaign kicks off with an all-day telethon-style fundraising event tomorrow from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on CP24. The live on-air event features appearances from new CTV Life Channel Original series MARY MAKES IT EASY star Mary Berg, Canadian singer and actor Tyler Shaw,  Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua from the City of Vaughan, and many other notable Canadians sharing their support. Also appearing during the event are the Wish’s longtime returning corporate partners RBC Royal Bank, Giant Tiger, and the Honda Canada Foundation. They are each set to announce their generous contributions to the Wish to kick-start this year’s season of giving. With toy drop-off locations reduced again this year due to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, financial donations in the form of cash or cheques are recommended. Toy donations are welcomed only at the CP24 CHUM CHRISTMAS WISH warehouse and Dymon Storage locations, in the form of new, unwrapped toys for newborns to children up to 18 years of age. Toys that have an outer packaging or cover are preferred, while plush toys or toys with porous material should be avoided. Financial donations can also be made online at TheWish.ca, or by texting WISH to 30333. This year, donations of either $10, $20 or $25 can easily be made via text. All funds are distributed to participating registered agencies, with donations channeled toward funding safe holiday experiences, such as small celebrations for children and families in need. All monetary donations of $20 or more are eligible for an income tax receipt. As one of the largest distributors of toys to children in need in the Greater Toronto Area, the CP24 CHUM CHRISTMAS WISH also provides financial assistance to hundreds of charitable organizations, social services agencies, churches, and community centres. Supporters can follow the campaign’s news, progress, and impact on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. The success of the CP24 CHUM CHRISTMAS WISH is made possible by valued partners who have helped put smiles on the faces of children and families for decades.
