Rallying together to support their communities during the COVID-19 pandemic, iHeartRadio Canada stations across western Canada continue to launch helpful initiatives and campaigns that thank and support frontline workers and local businesses. Here are some of the initiatives iHeartRadio Canada stations are taking to support communities in western Canada: British Columbia Alberta
  • Virgin, The Bear, and CTV Edmonton launched the online fundraiser, Feed Your Friends for the Edmonton Foodbank, with a goal of raising $10,000. The stations surpassed this goal early on when Canadian celebrities such as Ryan Reynolds, Nathan Fillion, and Darnell Nurse made donations and helped spread the word through social media.
  • Calgary’s 98.5 Virgin Radio, CJAY 92 ROCKS, Funny 1060 also encourages listeners to buy local with webpages on iHeartRadio.ca that share local businesses that are still open amidst the pandemic.
  • CJAY MORNINGS WITH JESSE & JD collaborate with local food businesses and personally deliver lunch to healthcare workers at the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic for #CJAYTHEDISHES
Manitoba
  • Pure Country 101, 96.1 BOB FM, Virgin Radio 103.1, and 99.9 BOB FM show they care about local businesses by sharing open businesses on their iHeartRadio.ca webpages.
  • Pure Country 101, 96.1 BOB FM promote United Way Brandon’s Local Love in a Global Crisis campaign on iHeartRadio.ca.
  • Making working from home a little easier, Brandon’s Pure Country 101 and 96.1 BOB FM team up with The Source for the Stay Connected contest, offering up a Google Home SMART Speaker every Monday morning.
Winnipeg
  • THE ACE BURPEE SHOW on 103.1 Virgin Radio is recognizing the outstanding people that are going above and beyond to help their community with the Everyday Heroes campaign, inviting viewers to recognize their community heroes for a shout-out on-air.
  • 103.1 Virgin Radio and 99.9 BOB FM have launched the Harvest Hero campaign, helping to provide food to people in need in their community through Winnipeg Harvest.

  • Pure Country 92.7 is raising funds and awareness for Family Services Regina, who deal with domestic abuse situations, which are on the rise with families now spending time in close quarters
  • Pure Country 92.7 is also promoting the support local campaign, providing a list of local businesses that remain open on iHeartRadio.ca
In addition, iHeartRadio Canada is keeping listeners entertained with newly announced series including, IHEART LIVING ROOM SESSIONS and IHEART STORYTIME, along with the IHEARTRADIO FAMILY content hub and LIFT channel, all available on iHeartRadio.ca and the iHeartRadio app.
