TORONTO (November 27, 2019) – iHeartRadio Canada announced today the launch of a brand-new iHeartRadio Original Podcast from Antica Productions, THE MUNK DEBATES PODCAST. Streaming worldwide today on iHeartRadio Canada and everywhere podcasts are found, the 30-episode weekly podcast is an extension of the Munk Debates’ main-stage events, Canada’s preeminent forum for leading thinkers debating real issues facing Canada and the world. Taped in-studio in Toronto, the episodes feature brand-new debates, as well as a few recuts of classic Munk Debate stage events, on topics such as religion, “the end of men”, and political correctness. “The Munk Debates is a highly regarded forum delivering some of the sharpest minds in the world, and we are thrilled to bring it to iHeartRadio Canada with Antica Productions,” said Rob Farina, Head of Radio Content, Strategy, and iHeartRadio. “Each episode provides listeners in-depth, smart, and inspiring conversations about today’s most interesting topics.” “Munk is already a global leader in the debate business, but we’re confident this new initiative, with the help of Bell Media and iHeartRadio, will expand that reach immeasurably,” said THE MUNK DEBATES PODCAST executive producer Stuart Coxe. “I know there will be fireworks, but each show offers in-depth information and perspective to help form or reshape listeners’ opinions.” Hosted by Rudyard Griffiths, chair of the Munk Debates, the podcast introduces the iconic brand and its engaging debates about current significant issues to a wide audience including topics such as the #MeToo movement, the future of democracy, and the threat of artificial intelligence to humanity. Among the debaters featured are Stephen Fry, Steve Bannon, Bret Stephens, Niall Ferguson , Bari Weiss , Kimberly Strassel, David Brooks, Jordan Peterson, and more. Like the iconic Munk Debates, its eponymous podcast features two debaters with sharply different points of view going head-to-head on a compelling topic. Each 40-minute episode provides listeners with both sides of a debate so they can make up their own mind while being inspired by a smart, challenging conversation. Upcoming THE MUNK DEBATES PODCAST episodes include: Nov. 27 – “Be it resolved, anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism” *Podcast Premiere* Who: Bret Stephens VS Peter Beinart Listen to a sneak peek here. About The Munk Debates

Since 2008, the Munk Debates have convened bi-annual debates in front of live audiences in Toronto that are broadcast across Canada and the United States on television and radio. Previous Munk Debate participants include Tony Blair, Henry Kissinger, Christopher Hitchens, Samantha Power, Paul Krugman, Fareed Zakaria, Stephen Fry, Jordan Peterson, Steve Bannon, and Mia Farrow. The Munk Debates are a project of the Aurea Foundation, founded in 2006 by Peter and Melanie Munk to support public discussion and debate of the challenges and opportunities facing Canadian society. The live series is the basis of a new podcast series — The Munk Debates Podcast — which launches worldwide on November 27. The new podcast will pair top pundits of opposing views debating the most important issues of the time. The podcasts will be recorded in studio and released on a weekly basis. More about the debates and the new series here: https://munkdebates.com.
