TORONTO (December 3, 2013) – Strapping into the jumpseat for Season 2, DANGEROUS FLIGHTS returns to Discovery with all-new episodes beginning Friday, January 10 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. An original Canadian series from Montreal’s Pixcom Productions, DANGEROUS FLIGHTS follows the highly-skilled pilots of a little-known world called ferry flying – an industry that gives a whole new meaning to “flying by the seat of your pants.” The 10-part series follows the daring mavericks who navigate the dangerous and adrenaline-charged business of international aircraft transport. Their job is to hustle small aircraft to customers around the globe, through the most exotic and extreme conditions – over jungles, deserts, and oceans, through war zones, and across the frozen arctic. Before the Season 2 premiere, viewers can catch up with Cory and the the rest of the pilots with a Season 1 Marathon, airing Sun., Jan. 5 beginning at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT, capped with a new special at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT titled “Wheels Down” that sees the pilots converge in a hangar to hash out last season’s most dramatic highlights and hint at what’s ahead for Season 2.

On an aviation adventure, DANGEROUS FLIGHTS returns to Discovery for Season 2, Jan. 10
From high-altitude adventures, to pressure-cooker human conflicts, DANGEROUS FLIGHTS follows eight pilots, including the wheeler-dealer aviation broker Cory, and young rookies Claire – Cory’s 18-year-old daughter – and 20-year-old Lex, as they deliver old and new private aircraft to clients around the world. From volatile weather systems and passenger cabins stuffed with jerry-rigged fuel tanks, to fireworks between pilots and co-pilots and over-demanding customers – plus the steady stream of stratospheric scrapes and escapes – DANGEROUS FLIGHTS thrills and chills from takeoff to touchdown.
Highlights from the first episodes of Season 2 include:
DANGEROUS FLIGHTS: “Ice Breaker”
Fri., Jan. 10 at 9 p.m. ET/PT
Cory and Pete team up to deliver a Caravan to Kenya. But even before clearing the American border, a monster blizzard and some serious ice threaten to drop them out of the sky. In Europe, Marcio and Kerry reunite in the cockpit – but this time the roles are reversed. Kerry is in his element, flying a single engine Cirrus; while jet-loving Marcio runs into trouble with the oxygen system at high altitude.
DANGEROUS FLIGHTS: “Cold Comfort”
Fri., Jan. 17 at 9 p.m. ET/PT
After battling a temperamental engine over wide-open ocean, Marcio and Kerry pursue some open water survival training. They brave the cold Icelandic water and practice surviving a ditch. Pete and Cory get their own reality check when they arrive in the Arctic – sporting dress shoes and light jackets. The town’s very own superhero, Polarman, is there to set them straight.
