Originally set to premiere this summer, fans of BLINDSPOT don’t have to wait as the fifth and final season premieres Thursday, May 7 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and everywhere CTV content can be found. And according to the Season 5 promo, someone will not survive. Picking up after last season’s cliffhanger finale, the FBI embark on one last mission as Season 5 begins in the aftermath that left Jane (Jaimie Alexander, THOR) watching as a drone strike, ordered by the team’s nemesis Madeline (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, HOSTAGES), attacks the Iceland safe house with the rest of the FBI team inside. “There are consequences to what Madeline has backed them into and how different their life is going to be now that they’re on the run,” revealed series creator Martin Gero to TV Insider of the upcoming season, adding that “Season 5 is about them trying to get their names back and trying to take Madeline down.” The season premiere sees Jane receive a strange message from an unknown ally that allows her to mount a rescue mission to free Rich Dotcom (Ennis Esmer, THE L.A. COMPLEX) from a CIA black-site, but she’ll need the help from her old rival Sho Akhtar (Ajay Naidu, Office Space). Actions have consequences, and with so many questions left unanswered, and the fates of our FBI favourites on the line, it won’t be long until viewers learn who makes it out of the safe house alive and whether the team will ever be able to clear their names in the wake of Madeline’s rise to power. Season 5 of BLINDSPOT airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT, beginning May 7 on CTV; before settling into its Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT timeslot, beginning May 28 on CTV.
