JULY 24 – HBO’s THE GOLDEN BOY *Documentary Premiere*
- After its world premiere at the 2023 Tribeca Festival, the HBO Original, two-part documentary THE GOLDEN BOY, directed by award-winning filmmaker Fernando Villena, premieres Monday, July 24 at 9 p.m. ET. By the age of 19, Oscar De La Hoya was an Olympic boxing gold medalist, a multi-world title-winning professional boxer, a hometown hero, and a role model to his Mexican-American community in East Los Angeles. Nicknamed “The Golden Boy,” De La Hoya – with his good looks, electric charisma, and heartfelt story of winning Olympic gold for his dying mother – rocketed to national prominence as a superstar both in and outside the ring. But all was not what it appeared to be behind that polished facade. Told in De La Hoya’s own words through a series of candid interviews with him and those closest to him, and featuring rare archival footage, THE GOLDEN BOY peels back the layers of this celebrated yet complicated figure, exploring his triumphs and turmoil to reveal a man struggling to come to terms with lifelong demons, and the impossible burden of a nickname he couldn’t live up to.
JULY 28 – HBO’s HOW TO WITH JOHN WILSON *Season 3 Premiere*
- The third and final six-episode season of HBO’s critically acclaimed docu-comedy series HOW TO WITH JOHN WILSON premieres on Friday, July 28 at 11 p.m. ET. In Season 3, documentary filmmaker and self-described “anxious New Yorker” John Wilson continues his heartfelt mission of self-discovery, exploration, and observation as he films the lives of his fellow New Yorkers while attempting to give everyday advice on six, new deceptively simple and wildly random topics. Nathan Fielder, Michael Koman, and Clark Reinking, who previously worked together on NATHAN FOR YOU, serve as executive producers. Building upon Season 2, the episodes take unexpected turns, as John navigates a new set of topics including; how to find a public restroom, how to work out, and how to clean your ears. New episodes stream Fridays.
HIGHLIGHTS
JULY 7 – RICE BOY SLEEPS *Movie Premiere*
- Winner of the Best Canadian Film Award at the Toronto Film Critics Association Awards, Best Original Screenplay at the 2023 Canadian Screen Awards, and the TIFF 2022 Platform Prize, RICE BOY SLEEPS drops on Friday, July 7. After losing her husband, So-young (Choi Seung-yoon) relocates to Canada in the 1990s with their young son, Dong-hyun (Dohyun Noel Hwang as a child, Ethan Hwang as a teenager) in tow. There, they must fight for acceptance and respect. Dong-hyun is brutally bullied by his classmates, and he isn’t helped by the timid, distinctly Canadian racism of his teacher and principal, who consider the family “troublesome.” At work, So-young battles loneliness, and racist and sexist comments. As they negotiate with their separate circumstances, the rift between mother and son grows. Unwelcome news sparks an unplanned return to South Korea — and the in-laws So-young hasn’t spoken to in many years — but might open up the possibility of mutual understanding.
JULY 7 – HALLOWEEN ENDS *Movie Premiere*
- Academy Award® winner and horror icon Jamie Lee Curtis returns to the role that lauched her career, Laurie Strode, in HALLOWEEN ENDS, streaming Thursday July 8. After 45 years, the most acclaimed, revered horror franchise in film history reaches its epic, terrifying conclusion as Laurie faces off for the last time against the embodiment of evil, Michael Myers, in a final confrontation unlike any captured on-screen before. Only one of them will survive.

- Its time to couple up! Lovelorn Americans arrive on the “Island” this summer when the U.S. version of the international reality sensation LOVE ISLAND returns, beginning Tuesday, July 18 at 9 p.m. ET. Based on the UK series of the same name, a group of single “Islanders” come together in a stunning villa in a beautiful tropical location to look for romance, but as always, the road to love never runs smoothly, as they must not only choose their partner wisely, but also win the hearts of the public. The romantic reality competition series is produced by ITV Entertainment, an ITV America company.
JULY 21 – MINX *Season 2 Premiere*
- The wildly funny and critically acclaimed workplace comedy MINX returns Friday, July 21 on STARZ. Set in 1970s Los Angeles, MINX centres around Joyce (Ophelia Lovibond), an earnest young feminist who joins forces with a low-rent publisher (Jake Johnson) to create the first erotic magazine for women. In Season 2, Doug, Joyce, and the entire Bottom Dollar crew grapple with Minx’s explosive success, which takes them all to thrilling new places and brings more money, fame and temptation than anyone knows how to handle. Hoping to seize the opportunity, Jack (Amell) and his cohorts prepare for a possible business deal with a new streaming service that may propel them onto a national stage. But the past, and its tragedies, threaten to upset everything when Ace (Ludwig) leaves Duffy and the Dome in his rearview. Meanwhile, rival promotion Florida Wrestling Dystopia’s vengeful frontman Gully (played by showrunner and executive producer Mike O’Malley) comes calling. The series follows a weekly release schedule, with new episodes dropping Fridays.
