MUST-WATCH TITLES FOR JUNE

JUNE 3 – STARZ’s P-VALLEY *Season 2 Premiere*
  • The Season 2 premiere of STARZ’s critically acclaimed series P-VALLEY, a kaleidoscopic story of a little-strip-club-that-could located down deep in the Mississippi Delta, streams Friday, June 3. The upcoming sophomore season reveals a whole new Pynk, as it struggles to remain open during a pandemic; a battle for the throne; and the possibility of some new blood shaking up the locker room. Plus, Season 2 takes audiences deeper into the lives of the Pynk’s beloved characters, as darkness descends upon Chucalissa. P-VALLEY follows a weekly release schedule, with new episodes dropping Sundays, beginning June 12.

JUNE 6 – HBO’s IRMA VEP *Series Premiere*
  • Based on Olivier Assayas’ 1996 feature film, HBO’s new limited series IRMA VEP, an official selection of the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, streams Monday, June 6 at 9 p.m. ET. Starring Alicia Vikander (Tomb Raider)IRMA VEP centres on Mira (Vikander), an American movie star disillusioned by her career and a recent breakup, who comes to France to star in a remake of the French silent film classic, Les Vampires. Set against the backdrop of a lurid crime thriller, Mira struggles as the distinctions between herself and the character she plays begin to blur and merge. The series reveals the uncertain ground that lies at the border of fiction and reality, artifice and authenticity, and art and life. The series follows a weekly release schedule with new episodes dropping Mondays at 9 p.m. ET.

JUNE 8 – HBO’s THE JANES *Documentary Premiere*
  • HBO Documentary Films’ THE JANES, is the story of an underground network of abortion activists pre-Roe V. Wade. In the spring of 1972, police raided an apartment on the South Side of Chicago where seven women part of a clandestine network, were arrested. Using code names, fronts, and safe houses to protect themselves and their work, the accused had built an underground network for women seeking safe, affordable, illegal abortions. Directed by Oscar®nominee Tia Lessin (Trouble the Water) and Emmy® nominee Emma Pildes (JANE FONDA IN FIVE ACTS), the documentary debuts Wednesday, June 8 at 9 p.m. ET.

JUNE 12 – STARZ’s BECOMING ELIZABETH *Series Premiere*
  • Premiering Sunday, June 12 is STARZ’s new Tudor drama, BECOMING ELIZABETH, explores the fascinating, untold story of the teenage years of Queen Elizabeth I. Long before she ascended the throne, young Elizabeth Tudor, played by Alicia von Rittberg (Fury), was an orphaned teenager who became embroiled in the political and sexual politics of the English court. The death of King Henry VIII sees his nine-year-old son Edward, played by Oliver Zetterström (The Midnight Gang) take the throne, and sets into motion a dangerous scramble for power when Elizabeth, Edward, and their sister Mary, played by Romola Garai (THE HOUR). They find themselves pawns in a game between the great families of England, and the powers of Europe who vie for control of the country. The series follows a weekly release schedule, with new episodes dropping Sundays.

JUNE 16 – FATHER OF THE BRIDE *World Premiere*
  • Comedy fans are guaranteed to laugh out loud at the modern rom-com updated from the timeless classic FATHER OF THE BRIDE streaming Thursday, June 16 on Crave. This sparkling story of a family and its unbreakable bonds illustrates the surprising and funny ways the heart can adapt in the name of love.

JUNE 17 – FANTASTIC FRIENDS *Series Premiere*
  • James and Oliver Phelps enchanted audiences worldwide as mischievous but loveable twins Fred and George Weasley in the Harry Potter franchise (available for streaming on Crave). Now, James and Oliver continued to capture the world’s imagination, travelling the world on magical adventures in FANTASTIC FRIENDS. In the series, James and Oliver invite audiences on their extraordinary exploits as they meet spellbinding guests, explore enchanting cities, and take on phenomenal challenges…while managing all kinds of mischief along the way. From Ireland to Iceland, and Czechia to the Caribbean, audiences join James and Oliver’s on an astonishing adventure like no other, as they charm their way from one shenanigan to the next. All six episodes are available for streaming on Friday, June 17.

JUNE 24 – THE DEANNE SMITH EXPERIENCE *Crave Original Stand-Up Special*
  • Crave’s new batch of Original stand-up specials continues to rollout with THE DEANNE SMITH EXPERIENCE. Filmed in front of a live audience during the 2021 Just For Laughs Festival in Montréal, and with five exes in the audience, DeAnne Smith talks dating, break-ups, 4,000 unread emails, and confronts their relationship history head-on.

JUNE 26 – HBO’s WESTWORLD *Season 4 Premiere*
  • HBO’s Emmy®-winning drama series WESTWORLD returns for its eight-episode fourth season, Sunday, June 26 at 9 p.m. ET. The one-hour drama is a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness, and the birth of a new form of life on Earth. Season 3 took the A.I. uprising out of the robotic theme parks and into the real world, where android Dolores found herself in the crosshairs of Rehoboam, the world’s most advanced A.I., secretly in place to impose order on human affairs by careful manipulation and prediction of the future. Returning cast includes Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, Ed Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Tessa Thompson, Luke Hemsworth, Aaron Paul, and Angela Sarafyan. The series follows a weekly release schedule with new episodes dropping Sundays at 9 p.m. ET

June – Crave Celebrates Pride
  • Crave raises the flag for Pride Month with a number of collections featuring movies, series, and specials that celebrate the LGBTQ2S+ community. JUNE 17 – THE LAST DUEL *Movie Premiere*
  • Featuring an A-list cast including Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Adam Driver, and Jodie Comer, the well-reviewed film THE LAST DUEL streams on Friday, June 17. Set in 14th century France, the film follows the story of a knight, Jean de Carrouges (Damon), who challenges his estranged friend squire Jacques Le Gris (Driver) to a judicial duel after his wife, Marguerite (Comer), accuses Jacques of raping her.

JUNE 24 – DRIVE MY CAR *Movie Premiere*
  • Winner of Best International Film at the 94th OSCARS®, DRIVE MY CAR is an introspective Japanese drama film co-written and directed by Ryusuke Hamaguchi. Two years after his wife’s unexpected death, Yusuke Kafuku (Hidetoshi Nishijima), a renowned stage actor and director, receives an offer to direct a production of Uncle Vanya at a theatre festival in Hiroshima. There, he meets Misaki Watari (Toko Miura), a taciturn young woman assigned by the festival to chauffeur him. As the production’s premiere approaches, tensions mount amongst the cast and crew, not least between Yusuke and Koji Takatsuki, a handsome TV star who shares an unwelcome connection to Yusuke’s late wife. The film had its world premiere at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, where it competed for the Palme d’Or and won three awards, including Best Screenplay. The film streams Friday, June 24.

JUNE 24 – SING 2 *Movie Premiere*
  • A new chapter in Illumination’s animated franchise arrives with big dreams and spectacular hit songs as the ever-optimistic koala, Buster Moon (Oscar-winner Matthew McConaughey), and his all-star cast of performers prepare to launch their most dazzling stage extravaganza yet, in the glittering entertainment capital of the world. There is just one hitch: they first have to persuade the world’s most reclusive rock star – played by music icon Bono, in his animated film debut – to join them. SING 2 streams Friday, June 24.
JUNE 24 – THE FRENCH DISPATCH *Movie Premiere*
  • Coined as Wes Anderson’s “best film to date” by The New Yorker, THE FRENCH DISPATCH is based in the 1960s in the French city of Ennui-sur-Blasé, and journalists work for the American magazine The French Dispatch. Curmudgeonly editor Arthur Howitzer Jr. (Bill Murray) runs the magazine, which covers “world politics, the arts high and low, and diverse stories of human interest.” Streaming Friday, June 24, the large ensemble cast includes Benicio del Toro, Adrien Brody, Timothée Chalamet, and more.
