  • Following a screening at Hot Docs’ recent online festival and premiering during Pride Month, HBO Documentary Films’ WELCOME TO CHECHNYA premieres on Tuesday, June 30 at 10 p.m. ET. From acclaimed journalist and Oscar®-nominated director David France (HOW TO SURVIVE A PLAGUE), the film brings to light the work of a group of activists in the Russian republic of Chechnya risking their lives to combat the deadly anti-LGBTQ torture campaign that has escalated in the country. With unfettered access and a commitment to protecting anonymity, this searing and intimate documentary exposes these gravely underreported atrocities while highlighting an extraordinary group of people confronting the brutality head-on.

  • The first installment of HBO’s six-part documentary series, I’LL BE GONE IN THE DARK, premieres on Sunday, June 28 at 10:05 p.m. ET, with new episodes airing subsequent Sundays at the same time. The true crime investigative series is based on the book of the same name and explores writer Michelle McNamara’s investigation into the dark world of a violent predator she dubbed the Golden State Killer. The series is directed by Academy Award nominee and Emmy® winning director Liz Garbus (HBO’s WHO KILLED GARRETT PHILLIPS, NOTHING LEFT UNSAID: GLORIA VANDERBILT & ANDERSON COOPER).

  • The Crave and TIFF Stay-at-Home Cinema initiative continues with Q&As and Crave screenings featuring HBO’s THE NORMAL HEART with Golden Globe® winner Matt Bomer on Friday, June 26 and the TIFF 2019 selection CLEMENCY on Tuesday, June 30, with guest to be announced.
