TREE OF ANGELS
Taking place from
Friday, Nov. 27 through Monday, Dec. 14 in
Conestoga Mall (550 King Street North),
TREE OF ANGELS is one of the largest, local charitable fundraising initiatives in the region. The annual campaign benefitting The Salvation Army aims to help those less fortunate in the community throughout the holiday season.
TREE OF ANGELS kicks off with an opening ceremony on
Friday, Nov. 27 at 6 p.m. at the campaign’s Christmas tree in front of Shopper’s Drug Mart. Listeners and viewers of KOOL 105.3, 99.5 KFUN, and CTV Kitchener can take part in the campaign by dropping off a gift card, new unwrapped toy, or by making a financial donation at the
TREE OF ANGELS Christmas tree location in the mall. All donations are distributed by The Salvation Army to families in need.
TREE OF ANGELS is made possible through the generosity of community partners including The Salvation Army, Conestoga Mall, The City of Waterloo Volunteer Services, Waterloo Chronicle, May Court Club of Kitchener Waterloo, and local service clubs.
STUFF A BUS
Listeners and viewers of KOOL 105.3, 99.5 KFUN, and CTV Kitchener are invited to take part in the
STUFF A BUS mission: to fill two buses over the course of three days from
Friday, Dec. 11 through Sunday, Dec. 13, with non-perishable food items and cash. Proceeds of the annual campaign are distributed among The Food Bank of Waterloo Region and The Cambridge Self Help Food Bank, to be channeled toward families in need throughout the holiday season.
With two buses to fill, the initiative kicks off in Cambridge at
Noon ET on
Friday, Dec. 11 at The
Cambridge Centre Zehrs (Dunbar Rd. behind the Cambridge Centre). Local dignitaries, special guests, and event organizers are slated to attend the
STUFF A BUS opening ceremony, along with volunteers who are on hand to collect non-perishable food items and cash donations. The celebrations continue at
6 p.m. in Kitchener with an official opening ceremony at the second campaign location at Laurentian Power Centre (Ottawa St. and Homer Watson Blvd.) in front of Zehrs. A
Grand River Transit bus will be parked in front of each location day and night throughout the campaign duration, with volunteers on board accepting non-perishable food items and cash donations.
An entirely volunteer-led initiative,
STUFF A BUS is made possible through partnerships and the generous support of Grand River Transit, The Food Bank of Waterloo Region, The Cambridge Self Help Food Bank, and Zehrs Markets.
