TORONTO (December 9, 2013) – As the world unites in mourning the loss and celebrating the life of Nelson Mandela, CTV News is live from Johannesburg, South Africa with a special five-hour presentation of the memorial of the former South African President and anti-apartheid icon, tomorrow morning from 4 – 9 a.m. ET/1 – 6 a.m. PT. Helmed by Chief News Anchor Lisa LaFlamme, A CTV NEWS SPECIAL: MANDELA delivers comprehensive insight and analysis on location from the proceedings, and features special guest Gary Bedell, a former Canadian diplomat who also worked as an aide to Mandela.
A special edition of CTV NATIONAL NEWS will follow from South Africa at 11 p.m. ET on CTV, and 10 p.m. ET on CTV News Channel.
With world leaders, royalty, diplomats, and celebrities around the world expected to be in attendance, CTV News has an expansive team on the ground to take viewers inside every moment of what is anticipated to be the largest gathering of world leaders in South Africa’s history.
