TORONTO (December 14, 2015) – Resuming its annual, decades-old tradition, CTV News’ Chief Anchor and Senior Editor Lisa LaFlamme leads A CONVERSATION WITH THE PRIME MINISTER. Airing Sunday, Dec. 27 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CTV, CTV GO, and CTVNews.ca, the special one-hour interview offers Canadians an intimate glimpse at the Prime Minister as he reflects on the events of the past year and his first weeks in office, and looks forward to what lies in store for Canada in 2016.

“CTVs A CONVERSATION WITH THE PRIME MINISTER provides a unique opportunity for Canadians to hear from the country’s leader in a candid, personal conversation,” said Wendy Freeman, President, CTV News. “We are delighted to restore this annual tradition and unite Canadians across the country over the holidays in a conversation that touches on matters of national importance.” This year’s edition of A CONVERSATION WITH THE PRIME MINISTER marks the first time in its history that the annual year-end interview takes place outside of Ottawa or Harrington Lake. Taped on location at Toronto’s Christmas Market in the historic Distillery District, the location captures the splendour of the holiday season, as LaFlamme tackles the topics most important to Canadians. A CONVERSATION WITH THE PRIME MINISTER has been an annual year-end CTV tradition since the network’s first interview with Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson in 1967. Since then successive Canadian Prime Ministers have shared their perspective on the year gone by and their hopes for the future in the hour-long special presentation. Anton Koschany is Executive Producer of A CONVERSATION WITH THE PRIME MINISTER. Rosa Hwang is Producer. Wendy Freeman is President, CTV News.
