TORONTO (November 28, 2013) – TSN heads to the MTS Centre in Winnipeg beginning this weekend to deliver complete live coverage of the TIM HORTONS ROAR OF THE RINGS – the Canadian Olympic Curling Trials – as the country’s top curlers battle for the right to represent Canada in the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. TSN’s exclusive live coverage of every draw runs Dec. 1-8, beginning with Draw #1 on Sunday, Dec. 1 at 2 p.m. ET on TSN (see below for complete broadcast schedule) with special coverage by new TSN sportscaster Ron Burgundy.

The TIM HORTONS ROAR OF THE RINGS features eight men’s and eight women’s teams competing in a round-robin format for the opportunity to head to Sochi 2014 as members of Team Canada. A slate of national, world, and Olympic champions are in the line-up, with the following skips helming all the action:

  • Men’s: Glenn Howard, Brad Jacobs, John Epping, Kevin Koe, Kevin Martin, Mike McEwen, John Morris, and Jeff Stoughton
  • Women’s: Chelsea Carey, Rachel Homan, Jennifer Jones, Stefanie Lawton, Sherry Middaugh, Heather Nedohin, Renée Sonnenberg, and Val Sweeting

Throughout the TIM HORTONS ROAR OF THE RINGS, fans can visit TSN Digital platforms for daily highlights, updated scores and standings, recaps of each draw, and full coverage of Ron Burgundy’s live broadcast appearance on TSN.

Broadcast Team

TSN’s acclaimed curling broadcast team of Vic Rauter providing play-by-play alongside commentators Linda Moore, the 1985 Canadian and World Champion and 1988 Olympic gold medallist, and recent inductee to Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame Russ Howard, a two-time Brier champion and 2006 Olympic gold medallist. Also providing play-by-play throughout the TIM HORTONS ROAR OF THE RINGS is Bryan Mudryk, joined by commentator Cathy Gauthier.

As announced during this past Sunday’s 101st GREY CUP, new TSN sportscaster Ron Burgundy will make his Canadian broadcasting debut during the opening day of the Tim Hortons Roar of the RingS on Sunday, Dec. 1 beginning at 2 p.m. ET.

As the official broadcaster of the Canadian Curling Association, TSN brings fans more than 300 hours of live action from the biggest events in curling, including complete coverage of the Tim Hortons Brier and Scotties Tournament of Hearts, along with the men’s and women’s world championships and the TRAVELERS ALL-STAR CURLING SKINS GAME, taking place at The Fenlands Banff Recreation Centre in Banff National Park from January 11-12, 2014.
