Ottawa,ON (November 16, 2012)– MAJIC 100 and CTV Ottawa are piling up the fun by building a mountain of toysagain this holiday season. Today marks the launch of the annual TOY MOUNTAIN campaign, dedicated toraising a mountain of toys and celebrating Ottawa’s spirit of giving. Thisyearly tradition from CTV Ottawa and MAJIC 100 will spread Christmas cheer onceagain for The Salvation Army, with hopes that the mountain of toys grows to newheights thanks to generous toy and cash donations.
“Everygift donated to the MAJIC 100 and CTV TOY MOUNTAIN Campaign helps The SalvationArmy meet the needs of families in our community,” said Richard Gray, Regional Vice-President,Radio & TV Operations Eastern Canada. “The overwhelming generosity of ourviewers and listeners helps support those less fortunate during the holidayseason, and spread Christmas cheer across the city with all the new locationsthis year.”
Asthe mountain of toys reaches higher altitudes, MAJIC 100 and CTV Ottawapersonalities will broadcast from various mobile donation drop-off locations onSaturday, Dec. 1; Saturday, Dec. 8; and Saturday, Dec. 15, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.,including several Toys ‘R Us and Wal-Mart locations throughout the city.Festive AMJ trucks and Salvation Army volunteers will be at each location tohelp collect donations. Even Santa will take a break from his holidaypreparations to make his rounds to each location during the Saturday TOY MOUNTAIN events.
Thisyear, donations can also be dropped-off during banking hours at all TD CanadaTrust locations or at a customer service kiosk during regular mall hours atboth Carlingwood and St-Laurent Shopping Centres. And of course, toys can alsobe dropped off at Bell Media Ottawa, located at 87 George Street during regularbusiness hours, turning an entire studio into one giant toy mountain.

Finally,businesses are encouraged to get involved via the At Work Santa program, where people can sign up to collectdonations on behalf of colleagues and arrange for pick-up through the SalvationArmy.
