Highlights This Week
- Variety describes it as a “knockout;” The Guardian says “justice is served;” RogerEbert.com calls it “bombtastic;” and IGN says “the “fabled “Snyder Cut” elevates Justice League into something well worth watching.” The highly-anticipated Warner Bros. Pictures and DC full-length HBO Max Original feature film, ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE, begins streaming on Thursday, March 18. Determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad, and Darkseid, and their dreadful intentions. ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE is set to join Crave’s newly created DC Multiverse Binge Collection (also launching on March 18) which features superhero films and TV series such as Doom Patrol, Arrow, Birds of Prey, Joker, and more.
- Just in time for the debut of ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE, Crave is now available for 50% off for three months on all monthly plans. The offer is available now through March 31 for first-time subscribers who subscribe directly through Crave. Visit ca/subscribe for more details.
- HBO’s Q: INTO THE STORM, a six-part documentary series exploring the origins of QAnon, premieres on Crave with two episodes on Sunday, March 21 at 9 p.m. ET and 10 p.m. ET. During a three-year global investigation, the series chronicles the evolution of “Q” in real-time with unprecedented access to key players, revealing how the anonymous character known only as “Q” uses conspiracy theories and information warfare to game the internet, hijack politics, and manipulate people’s thinking. The six episodes also examine the influence of QAnon on American culture, and question the consequences of unfettered free speech permeating the darkest corners of the internet.
- The eight-part mystery-drama THE GLOAMING begins streaming on STARZ on Sunday, March 21. When an unidentified woman is found brutally murdered, evidence discovered at the scene links to a 20-year-old unsolved crime. What begins as a routine investigation exposes something more insidious, as political corruption and shady business dealings intertwine with sinister crimes and occult practices. THE GLOAMING stars Emma Booth (GLITCH) and Ewen Leslie (THE CRY), alongside Martin Henderson (GREY’S ANATOMY), Aaron Pedersen (MYSTERY ROAD), and Rena Owen (SIREN), and features directors including Michael Rymer (AMERICAN HORROR STORY), Greg McLean (WOLF CREEK), and Sian Davies (WENTWORTH). THE GLOAMING follows a weekly release schedule, with new episodes dropping Sundays on STARZ.
- HBO Sports, Imagine Documentaries, and Fuqua Films team up for THE DAY SPORTS STOOD STILL, a feature-length documentary that tells the story of the unprecedented sports shutdown in March of 2020 and the remarkable turn of events that followed. Emmy®-winning director Antoine Fuqua (HBO’s WHAT’S MY NAME: MUHAMMAD ALI) chronicles the abrupt stoppage, athletes’ prominent role in the cultural reckoning on racial injustices that escalated during the pandemic, and the complex return to competition in the summer and fall. From producers Brian Grazer and Justin Wilkes, along with Fuqua, the film debuts Wednesday, March 24 at 9 p.m. ET.
