MARCH 24 – HBO Max’s ONE PERFECT SHOT *Docuseries Premiere*
- Created for television by Academy Award nominee and Emmy®-winner Ava DuVernay (DMZ, WHEN THEY SEE US) and inspired by the popular Twitter account of the same name, each episode of ONE PERFECT SHOT arms one acclaimed director with an arsenal of visual tools to pull back the curtain on their most iconic shots. Directors enter each shot, walking through the scene in 360 degree moments that allow viewers to join an immersive exploration of movie-making. Filmmakers share their obstacles, challenges, lessons, and triumphs as they detail the road to their one perfect shot. The series features prolific filmmakers Patty Jenkins, Aaron Sorkin, Kasi Lemmons, Jon M. Chu, Malcolm D. Lee, and Michael Mann, as well as blockbuster films including Wonder Woman, The Trial of the Chicago 7, Harriet, Crazy Rich Asians, Girls Trip, and Heat. All six episodes are available for streaming on Thursday, March 24.
MARCH 24 – HBO Max’s STARSTRUCK *Season 2*
- All six episodes of HBO Max’s STARSTRUCK drop Thursday, March 24. Hailed as a “charmer” by The New York Times, and “the breakout star of 2021” by The Guardian, Rose Matafeo returns as Jessie, a millennial living in East London navigating the complications of becoming romantically involved with Tom (Nikesh Patel, Four Weddings and a Funeral (2019)), a famous film star. In Season 2, Jessie must deal with the real-world consequences of deciding to stay and pursue a relationship with Tom, rather than sticking to her original plan of returning home to New Zealand. The Season 2 ensemble cast also includes Minnie Driver (Good Will Hunting) and Russell Tovey (BEING HUMAN).
MARCH 25 – LAW & ORDER *Season 6-10*
- Seasons 6-10 of the Emmy-winning drama series LAW & ORDER join Crave on Friday, March 25. Created by Dick Wolf, and filmed on location in New York, the iconic crime drama showcases the sometimes-complex process of determining guilt or innocence, while lives hang in the balance. Often inspired by the latest headlines, the plots highlight legal, ethical or personal dilemmas to which people can relate. The cast includes Benjamin Bratt (DMZ), Jerry Orbach (Dirty Dancing), Sam Waterston (GRACE AND FRANKIE), S. Epatha Merkerson (CHICAGO MED), and Angie Harmon (BAYWATCH).
MARCH 25 – KING RICHARD *Movie Premiere*
- Starring Will Smith and chronicling the early careers of tennis pros Venus and Serena Williams, the Academy Award-nominated movie KING RICHARD streams on Friday, March 25. Armed with a clear vision and a brazen 78-page plan, Richard Williams is determined to write his daughters, Venus and Serena, into history. Training on Compton, California’s neglected tennis courts – rain or shine – the girls are shaped by their father’s unyielding commitment and their mother’s balanced perspective and keen intuition, defying the seemingly insurmountable odds and prevailing expectations laid before them. KING RICHARD is nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor in a Leading Role, Best Actress in a Supporting Role, and Best Original Screenplay.
MARCH 29 – HBO’s HOW TO SURVIVE A PANDEMIC *Documentary Premiere*
- From acclaimed journalist and Academy Award-nominated filmmaker David France (Welcome to Chechnya, How to Survive a Plague), HBO’s HOW TO SURVIVE A PANDEMIC premieres Tuesday, March 29 at 9 p.m. ET. The documentary takes an inside look at the historic, multi-national race to research, develop, regulate, and roll out COVID-19 vaccines, in the war against the coronavirus pandemic. The documentary began filming in early 2020 as the largest public health effort in history got underway and followed those efforts of over the next 18 months, exploring in real time, the hard work and collaboration of health agencies worldwide, as well as the political and moral failures of governments to act impartially and equitably.
MARCH 30 – HBO’s WHEN WE WERE BULLIES *Documentary Short Premiere*
- The Academy Award-nominated documentary short film WHEN WE WERE BULLIES begins with a mind-boggling coincidence from 25 years ago, which ultimately leads filmmaker Jay Rosenblatt (Phantom Limb, Human Remains) to track down his fifth grade class to see what they remember from a bullying incident that occurred 50 years ago. Weaving together a collage of archival material, found footage, stop-motion animation, and interviews with classmates and a teacher from the time, the film is a highly personal look back at a Brooklyn schoolyard incident that had been obscured by the elusive nature of memory, but had resonated for decades. In a playful yet poignant reflection, Rosenblatt begins to understand his complicity, his sense of shame, and the shared nature of such incidents and their aftermath. WHEN WE WERE BULLIES premieres Wednesday, March 30 at 9 p.m. ET.
