MAY 16 – Crave Original Series BELLEFLEUR *Series Premiere*
- The new Crave Original Series BELLEFLEUR is a half-hour, 10-episode dramedy, directed by Jeanne Leblanc, that addresses healthy friendship, feminism, fatherhood, gender fluidity, and mourning, with humour and emotion. Deprived of his role as stepfather following a breakup, Nicolas (Guillaume Laurin) takes refuge in his native town and finds his brother Maxime (Maxime De Cotret) and his high school friends Yann (Marc-André Grondin), Minh (Jean Bui), and Alex (Guillaume Cyr), to navigate this new life where fatherhood is left hanging. The series is available to Crave audiences in French with English subtitles, and premieres with two episodes on Thursday, May 16. It follows a weekly release schedule with two new episodes dropping every Thursday.
MAY 17 – RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE ALL STARS *Season 9 Premiere*
- The ninth season of RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE ALL STARS begins streaming with two all-new episodes on Friday, May 17. In this new season, eight fan-favorite queens return to use their drag superpowers for good, competing to win a supersized donation of $200,000, provided by The Palette Fund, for a charity of their choosing. This season marks the first time in franchise herstory where the queens are competing for charity and harnessing their drag skills to win money for a variety of organizations. MAY 17 – SAW X *Movie Premiere*
- John Kramer is back. In the most chilling installment of the SAW franchise to date, SAW X explores the untold chapter of Jigsaw’s most personal game. Set between the events of SAW I and II, a sick and desperate John travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer – only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable. Armed with a newfound purpose, John returns to his work, turning the tables on the con artists in his signature visceral way through a series of ingenious and terrifying traps.
MAY 17 – THE HUNGER GAMES: THE BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS AND SNAKES *Movie Premiere*
- THE HUNGER GAMES: THE BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS & SNAKES follows a young Coriolanus (Tom Blyth) who is the last hope for his failing lineage, the once-proud Snow family that has fallen from grace in a post-war Capitol. With his livelihood threatened, Snow is reluctantly assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler), a tribute from the impoverished District 12. But after Lucy Gray’s charm captivates the audience of Panem, Snow sees an opportunity to shift their fates. With everything he has worked for hanging in the balance, Snow unites with Lucy Gray to turn the odds in their favor. Battling his instincts for both good and evil, Snow sets out on a race against time to survive and reveal if he will ultimately become a songbird or a snake. The film premieres Friday, May 17 on STARZ.
MAY 20 – HBO Original Documentary Series STAX: SOULSVILLE U.S.A. *Premiere*
- An official selection of the 2024 SXSW Film & TV Festival and winner of the TV Premiere Audience Award, STAX: SOULSVILLE U.S.A. is a four-part docuseries that follows the story of Stax Records, one of the recording industry’s most influential producers of soul music, breaking acts such as Otis Redding, Isaac Hayes, Booker T. & the M.G.’s, Sam & Dave, and many more. The series chronicles the audacious group of individuals who dared to make music on their own terms, smashing racial barriers and defining an era and leaving an enduring musical legacy in their wake. All four episodes are available for streaming on Monday, May 20.
MAY 22 – DUNE: PART TWO *Movie Premiere*
- From Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, DUNE: PART TWO makes its streaming debut on Tuesday, May 21. The big-screen epic from Canadian director Denis Villeneuve continues the adaptation of Frank Herbert’s acclaimed bestseller Dunewith returning and new stars, including Oscar® nominee Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar nominee Josh Brolin, Oscar nominee Austin Butler, Oscar nominee Florence Pugh, Dave Bautista, Oscar winner Christopher Walken, Léa Seydoux, Souheila Yacoub, with Stellan Skarsgård, with Oscar nominee Charlotte Rampling, and Oscar winner Javier Bardem. DUNE: PART TWO explores the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a path of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.
