Tory makes his return to the broadcast booth this Thursday, March 5 at 5 p.m. ET to spend the hour taking listener calls and engaging on the topics that mean the most to Torontonians, including transit, gridlock, taxes, and housing. “It’s a great pleasure to welcome John back as a contributor to THE LIVE DRIVE, only this time as the Mayor of Toronto,” said Mike Bendixen, Program Director, NEWSTALK 1010. “Our frank, honest, and open format will provide an important platform for our listeners to not only hear what the Mayor has to say on important municipal matters, but also to engage in dialogue and discuss their ideas and questions directly.” Tory is a former host of THE LIVE DRIVE, having stepped out of his role as broadcaster in February 2014 to enter the 2014 Toronto Mayoral race. Tory had partnered with NEWSTALK 1010 in 2009 to launch his own afternoon radio show, featuring interviews with top political figures, including Prime Minister Stephen Harper, and topical daily news stories. THE LIVE DRIVE with host Ryan Doyle airs weekdays on NEWSTALK 1010 from 4 – 7 p.m. ET and can be streamed live and on-demand on Newstalk1010.com.
