TORONTO (January 18, 2017) – CTV announced today that the DC-inspired comedy series
POWERLESS joins its all-star
Thursday night lineup beginning
Feb. 2 at
8:30 p.m. ET/PT. Vanessa Hudgens (GREASE LIVE) stars as Emily Locke, the new Director of Research & Development for Wayne Security, a company that specializes in products that help make defenseless bystanders feel a little safer in a world full of Super Heroes and Villains.
A series about the people who keep civilians safe from the collateral damage of super battles,
POWERLESS is paired with Canada’s most-watched series,
THE BIG BANG THEORY at
8 p.m. ET/PT – and it’s definitely a matchup that Sheldon Cooper would surely approve of. The stacked Thursday night schedule also includes the
previously announced new CTV series
TRAINING DAY at
10 p.m. ET/PT beginning
Feb. 2.
“With star power and a comedic take on the super hero genre,
POWERLESS is a great addition to CTV’s midseason schedule,” said Mike Cosentino, Senior Vice-President, CTV and Specialty, Bell Media. “We’ve created a strong Thursday night comedy block that benefits from the lead-in from established performer
THE BIG BANG THEORY.”
In the
POWERLESS premiere, “Wayne Or Lose” (
Thursday, Feb. 2 at
8:30 p.m. ET/PT), Emily Locke (Vanessa Hudgens) begins her first day as Director of Research & Development for Wayne Security, a subsidiary of Wayne Enterprises run by Bruce Wayne’s cousin. Full of confidence and big ideas, Emily quickly learns that her expectations far exceed those of her new boss and officemates. She quickly learns it will be up to her to lead the team toward their full potential and the realization that you don’t need superpowers to be a hero.
POWERLESS also stars Danny Pudi (COMMUNITY), Christina Kirk (A TO Z), and Ron Funches (DRUNK HISTORY), and is produced by Warner Bros. Television and based on the characters from DC Comics.
