TORONTO (May 2, 2016) – From a placid New England town to a high-energy newsroom, CraveTV takes viewers on an exciting and moving journey this May with a slate of new HBO offerings. Starting off this month is the powerful miniseries, OLIVE KITTERIDGE, a poignantly sweet, acerbically funny, and devastatingly tragic story told through the eyes of Olive (Frances McDormand, FARGO), a New England woman whose wicked wit and harsh demeanor mask a warm but troubled heart and staunch moral centre. Then THE NEWSROOM, starring Jeff Daniels, takes viewers behind the scenes of a fictional newsroom, following the trials and tribulations that surround reporting the news in a corporate world. Other May additions include Season 3 of the provocative drama series MISTRESSES; the acclaimed, award-winning HBO Film BESSIE; the thrilling real-time political docu-series THE CIRCUS: INSIDE THE GREATEST POLITICAL SHOW ON EARTH; and the third and final season of the supernatural drama BITTEN, starring Canada’s own Laura Vandervoort.  This month in CraveTV history:

When it comes to love, these girlfriends find support and guidance from each other as they push the limits, test their boundaries, and discover just how far they are prepared to go. They are willing to brave love's turbulent journey, as well as its excitement, secrecy, and betrayal, all the while bound by the complex relationships they've created.  THE ROLLING STONES: STONES IN EXILE – *PREMIERE* (Documentaries/Music) In the spring of 1971 the Rolling Stones reluctantly departed the U.K. to take up residence in France. Guitarist Keith Richards settled at a villa called Nellcôte in the French Riviera that became the venue for the recording of much of the band’s masterpiece Exile on Main Street. THE ROLLING STONES: STONES IN EXILE tells the story in the band’s own words and through extensive archive footage of their time away from England and the creation of this extraordinary double album, which many regard as Stones’ finest achievement. STEVE MCQUEEN: THE MANS AND LE MANS – *PREMIERE* (Documentaries/ SHOWTIME/Sports) The turbulent production of the Steve McQueen car-racing classic film Le Mans serves as the subject of this documentary. But as production on Le Mans got underway, the driven star would be forced to contend not only with the sudden departure of the film’s original director, John Sturgis, but his own failing marriage, the threat of bankruptcy, and the fear of learning that He’d been targeted for death by one of the most notorious serial killers of the 20th Century.  OLIVE KITTERIDGE – *PREMIERE* (Dramas/HBO) The story of a New England town wrought with illicit affairs, crime, and tragedy, told through the lens of Olive (Frances McDormand, FARGO). The story, which spans 25 years, focuses on her relationships with her husband, Henry (Richard Jenkins, Step Brothers), the good-hearted and kindly town pharmacist; their son Christopher (John Gallagher Jr., THE NEWSROOM), who resents his mother’s approach to parenting; and other members of their community. The unique and powerful miniseries also stars Bill Murray (The Jungle Book). Friday, May 13: THE LAST SHIP – Season 2 – *PREMIERE* (Sci-Fi & Fantasy/Dramas) In Season 2, Chandler (Eric Dane, GREY’S ANATOMY), his second-in-command XO Mike Slattery (Adam Baldwin, LAW & ORDER), and the rest of the crew are working to disseminate the cure that paleomicrobiologist Dr. Rachel Scott (Rhona Mitra, SHOOTER) developed. Meanwhile, a new threat surfaces… NOT SAFE WITH NIKKI GLASER – Season 1A – *PREMIERE* (Comedies) Self-proclaimed "curious perv" Nikki Glaser (Nikki & Sara Live) knows you're having sex and she wants to hear all about it. NOT SAFE WITH NIKKI GLASER is a place for comics to joke, learn, and share their personal stories about sex and relationships. It's a fun, frank, fast-paced show with panel discussion, field pieces, and social experiments that is equal parts hilarious and titillating. TOSH.O – Season 8A – *PREMIERE* (Comedies) A weekly topical series, TOSH.O delves into all aspects of the Internet from the absolutely absurd to the incredibly ingenious, with episodes featuring popular recurring segments like Video Breakdown, 20 Seconds on the Clock, and the series' signature Web Redemption, in which Tosh gives subjects of notorious viral videos a second chance to redeem themselves from the embarrassment of which they have become synonymous. THE CIRCUS: INSIDE THE GREATEST POLITICAL SHOW ON EARTH – Season 1A – *PREMIERE* (Documentaries/SHOWTIME) The show pulls back the curtain and takes viewers deep inside the fiercest competition on earth – where the ultimate prize is the most powerful office in the world. Friday, May 20: BON JOVI LIVE IN LONDON – *PREMIERE* (Music) Live from London's Wembley Stadium, this concert captures stellar rock band Bon Jovi performing some of their best songs before a screaming audience of thousands. Filmed as the acclaimed group kicked off its reunion tour following leader Jon Bon Jovi's solo hiatus, the concert features such hits as Livin' on a Prayer, You Give Love a Bad Name, Blaze of Glory, and Bad Medicine. Behind-the-scenes footage completes the experience.  BESSIE – *PREMIERE* (Dramas/Music/HBO ) Starring Oscar®-nominee Queen Latifah (Chicago) in the title role, the HBO Original Film focuses on legendary blues singer Bessie Smith’s transformation from a struggling young singer into “The Empress of the Blues,” one of the most successful recording artists of the 1920s and an enduring icon today. The film also stars Michael Kenneth Williams (THE WIRE) as Bessie’s husband, Jack Gee; Khandi Alexander (TREME) as Bessie’s older sister, Viola; and Tory Kittles (TRUE DETECTIVE) as Bessie’s older brother.  BITTEN – Season 3 – *PREMIERE* (Dramas/Sci-Fi & Fantasy/All-Canadian) The third and final season of BITTEN finds The Pack several months after a harrowing and bloody battle, and once again, there are challenges and tensions within the ranks of the Council of International Alphas. This time, a rogue former member and his supporters create tension, posing a direct threat to The Pack. Meanwhile, Elena (Laura Vandervoort, SMALLVILLE) struggles with Jeremy’s (Greg Bryk, THE BOOK OF NEGROES) new draconian leadership style as she makes some shocking and surprising discoveries about herself. ANOTHER PERIOD – Season 1 – *PREMIERE* (Comedies) Set at the turn of the century, the series follows the misadventures of the Bellacourts, Newport, RI's first family, who have absolutely nothing to offer the world. The series focuses on sisters Lillian (Natasha Leggero, DICE) and Beatrice (Riki Lindhome, The Last House on the Left), who care only about how they look, what parties they attend, and becoming famous. Friday, May 27: MORE THAN THIS: THE STORY OF ROXY MUSIC – *PREMIERE* (Documentaries/Music) This in-depth documentary chronicles the story of legendary glam-rock band Roxy Music, who emerged on the music scene in 1972. The band altered the face of popular music, influenced trends in fashion, and launched the careers of musicians like Brian Eno and Bryan Ferry.  TIME TRAVELLING BONG – *PREMIERE* (Comedies) Starring Ilana Glazer (BROAD CITY), the mini-series centres around two cousins who discover a time-traveling bong that allows them to ride high as they blaze through time. Their buzz is killed when the bong breaks and the cousins are forced to bounce around the space-time continuum, learning to appreciate that there really is no time like the present.  THE NEWSROOM – Seasons 1-3 – *PREMIERE* (Dramas/HBO) Created by Oscar® winner Aaron Sorkin (THE WEST WING), THE NEWSROOM follows members of a cable news team on their quixotic mission to do the news well in the face of a fickle audience, corporate mandates, and tangled personal relationships.
