New Plans and Old Traditions of the Holidays Season – Santa weighs in along with Hosts and Organizers of CTV’s THE ORIGINAL SANTA CLAUS PARADE

CTV’s longstanding holiday favourite THE ORIGINAL CLAUS PARADE airs this Saturday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. ET/PT in a two-hour primetime special for the first time. New this year, to, the parade is delivered safely and shot in advance from a closed parade route at the iconic Canada’s Wonderland amusement park in adherence with all local health and safety protocols. Bell Media Studios hosts, Original Santa Claus Parade officials, and Santa Claus himself weigh in on what they are most looking forward to for this year’s parade. THE ORIGINAL SANTA CLAUS PARADE Hosts, Melissa Grelo and Kelsey McEwen: Melissa: At THE SOCIAL, we’ve been lucky to continue to connect with our viewers in new and innovative ways, and this year’s parade is no exception! I’m looking forward to sharing it with my family at home on Saturday night this year. Kelsey: I love Christmas carols and I’m looking forward to seeing all of the spectacular performances that we all get to sing along with during the parade. Dolly Parton, Kelly Clarkson and Brett Eldredge, Meghan Trainor, Ruth B., Shaggy ft. CARYS, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra are all joining us remotely to help put on the best show possible. This year’s parade has 25 floats including ours, and eight marching bands, all incorporating brilliant displays of lights that create a stunning show. New this year, not only did we get to shoot in the iconic Canada’s Wonderland amusement park, but we shot in the evening and created a magical environment with our design partners with brilliant lights and holiday décor. Every float brings the magic of the holidays with unique twinkling displays. And our international lineup of performers have all sent in show-stopping musical performances that viewers are going to love.
