NEWSTALK 1010 Giving Away 1,500 Back-to-School Backpacks to Toronto Children in Need, Aug. 29

TORONTO (August 22, 2018) – For the fourth consecutive year, NEWSTALK 1010, Toronto’s source for in-depth radio, prepares children in need for the new school year by giving away 1,500 free back-to-school backpacks. On Wednesday, Aug. 29 beginning at 10 a.m. ET, NEWSTALK 1010 is set to distribute backpacks bursting with essential school supplies from two Toronto-area locations to students who received vouchers through the radio station’s charitable partner, The Children’s Breakfast Clubs. Voucher holders are invited to visit the event location outlined on their vouchers. Details on both participating locations are as follows: What:     NEWSTALK 1010’s Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway Where:  West End Location:                   Toronto Community Housing Corporation 30 Falstaff Avenue                  East End Location:                   Warden Woods Community Centre 74 Firvalley Court  When:    Wednesday, Aug. 29 beginning at 10 a.m. ET Giveaway: One free back-to-school backpack plus school supplies per voucher holder, while quantities last NEWSTALK 1010’s special back-to-school backpack giveaway is in support of The Children’s Breakfast Clubs, a non-profit charitable organization that believes every child is entitled to a nutritious breakfast. The program serves an estimated 4,000 meals each week in more than 20 clubs across the GTA. This year’s backpack giveaway is made possible by generous donations from the Carpenters Union, BIC Canada, Jamaal Magloire Foundation, Unifor, and The Brotherhood Tribe.
