NEWSTALK 1010 Joins Waze for Broadcasters to Deliver Real-Time Traffic Updates to Torontonians

TORONTO (September 5, 2018) – NEWSTALK 1010 today announced a new partnership with Waze, the real-time, crowdsourced navigation app backed by the world’s largest community of drivers. Through the partnership, NEWSTALK 1010 joins Waze for Broadcasters to deliver up-to-the-minute breaking news from the roads using Waze Complete Traffic Intelligence, a combination of historical and real-time traffic information sourced directly from local drivers.
NEWSTALK 1010’s frequent traffic updates are now boosted by a suite of Waze Complete Traffic Intelligence tools, including the W on Air iPad app, optimized to supercharge on-air traffic reporting with real-time data powered by Waze’s 100+ million worldwide users.

Through Waze for Broadcasters, NEWSTALK 1010 anchors will gain access to:
- Real-Time Traffic Insights, to instantly inform listeners of unusual traffic conditions and share Waze user photos, comments, and reports directly from the roads
- Dynamic Routes, as well as drive times from any start point to any destination in a quick and visual way
- Waze Teams, with a new NEWSTALK 1010-branded team within the Waze app, which listeners can join to contribute live traffic reports and photos to the station. All participating team members will carry the station’s logo on their Wazer image.
