

Hook Up With Comedy This July for a Hot Heap of All-New and Returning Series

TORONTO (July 22, 2013) – The largest comedy festival in the world, The Just For Laughs Festival (JFL) in Montreal, kicks off this week, and once again The Comedy Network is rolling up its sleeves to get into some serious funny business. From July 23 – July 27, The Comedy Network is on the ground, behind the scenes, and online to bring the funniest people on earth to viewers across the country.
Slated for a fall premiere, Comedy announced today the all-star line-up of its exclusive stand-up series JUST FOR LAUGHS: ALL ACCESS. Taping this week in Montreal, Comedy and Just For Laughs are set to deliver another 13 hours of hilarious stand-up to viewers, in a second season of this original series. Produced in association with Just For Laughs Television, JUST FOR LAUGHS: ALL ACCESS series will be hosted from Montreal by some of the biggest and brightest names in comedy including Sarah Silverman, Seth Meyers, Jay Baruchel, Kristen Schaal, Chris Hardwick, SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE’s Taran Killam and Bobby Moynihan, and Jeff Ross. Additionally, the likes of MATCH GAME stars Darrin Rose, Debra DiGiovanni, Seán Cullen, and SATISFACTION’s Ryan Belleville and Pat Thornton, will also tape the series at JFL. Also appearing in JUST FOR LAUGHS: ALL ACCESS are some of the hottest homegrown and international stand-up comics in the biz, including Amy Schumer, John Mulaney, Marc Maron, Tig Notaro, Harland Williams, Maria Bamford, Hannibal Buress, Pete Holmes, Bo Burnham, Todd Glass, Jimmy Carr, and many, many (MANY) more.
On top of making television, Comedy’s network execs are on hand to lend their expertise during the Festival’s ComedyPRO Conference. On Thursday, July 25, Sarah Fowlie, Director, Independent Production, Comedy, participates in the TV’S POWER BROKERS panel with a bevy of other top TV brass. Then, on Friday, July 26, Director of Specialty Programming, Rachel Goldstein-Couto participates on the From Set to Screen: The TV Comedy Search panel.
Online, Comedy has JFL covered on TheComedyNetwork.ca as the digital team goes behind the scenes to chat with the performers, capture the best moments from the Festival, and schmooze on the inaugural red carpet at The Just For Laughs Awards Show. Comedy’s blog will be updated daily, from Tuesday through Sunday, with the best photos, short videos and insider stories from the Fest. More digital video content from the Just For Laughs festival will be available this fall on TheComedyNetwork.ca in conjunction with Comedy’s broadcasts of JUST FOR LAUGHS: ALL ACCESS.
