Crave continues to deliver weekly alerts highlighting new and noteworthy programming and scheduling changes for the week ahead. Highlights This Week  

• The HBO Max Original THE FRESH PRINCE OF BEL-AIR REUNION SPECIAL begins streaming Thursday, Nov. 19. Featuring original series regulars, the special is a funny and heartfelt night full of music, dancing, and special surprise guests in honour of the series that ran for six seasons and 148 episodes. Also on Nov. 19, the entire THE FRESH PRINCE OF BEL-AIR library rolls out on Crave. The iconic 90s sitcom stars Will Smith as Will, a street-smart teenager from inner city Philadelphia who, after getting into a fight, is sent to live with his wealthy uncle and aunt in their Bel-Air mansion. Will’s lifestyle often clashes with the upper-class world of the Banks family – his uncle Phil (James Avery, License to Drive) and aunt Vivian (Daphne Maxwell Reid, FRANK’S PLACE and Janet Hubert, Not Letting Go); and their children, Will’s cousins: Hilary (Karyn Parsons, Major Payne), Carlton (Alfonso Ribeiro, AMERICA’S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS), and Ashley (Tatyana Ali, THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS).

 

• HBO’s BETWEEN THE WORLD AND ME, a gripping adaption of the New York Times #1 bestselling book by Ta-Nehisi Coates and the Apollo stage performance of the same name, premieres Saturday, Nov. 21 at 8 p.m. ET. Coates’ book, now recognized as a classic of the Black Lives Matter era, has been reimagined by director Kamilah Forbes during a global pandemic against the backdrop of the killing of Breonna Taylor and global protests in support of Black lives. Anchored by an ensemble performance, including Mahershala Ali, Angela Bassett, Yara Shahidi, Oprah Winfrey and others, BETWEEN THE WORLD AND ME embodies Coates’ letter to his 15-year-old son on coming of age in Black America. The special combines powerful performances, elements of the Apollo’s production, documentary footage from the actors’ home life, archival footage, and animation.

 

• SHOWTIME’s new documentary BELUSHI, chronicling the life and legendary career of beloved comedian John Belushi, premieres Sunday, Nov. 22 at 9 p.m. ET. Written and directed by Emmy-winner R.J. Cutler (AMERICAN HIGH), the film uses previously unheard audiotapes recorded shortly after John Belushi’s death to examine the too-short life of a generational talent who captured the hearts and funny bones of devoted audiences.

  What to Watch for the Week of November 19 – November 25 *All Programming Subject to Change  

• A new episode of HBO’s six-part docu-comedy, HOW TO WITH JOHN WILSON, drops Friday, Nov. 20 at 11 p.m. ET. In episode 5, “How to Split the Check,” John attempts to make sense of the intricacies – and fairness practices – behind the complex art of splitting the check.

 

• SHOWTIME’s historical docuseries THE REAGANS continues Sunday, Nov. 22 at 8 p.m. ET. The second episode takes a closer look at President Reagan’s record on race and re-examines his history as a law-and-order candidate who effectively used racialist codes as a strategy to win elections. Nancy starts to come into her own as a political force.

 

• THE UNDOING, HBO’s thrilling limited series from BIG LITTLE LIES creator, David E. Kelley, and Emmy^®, Academy Award^®, and Golden Globe^®-winning director Susanne Bier (Bird Box), continues Sunday, Nov. 22 at 9 p.m. ET. In the fifth episode, on the first day of the trial, the prosecution presents shocking evidence, while the defense casts doubt on the police investigation. Later, Henry (Noah Jupe) divulges a secret to Grace (Nicole Kidman).

 

• HBO’s new four-part documentary series, MURDER ON MIDDLE BEACH, continues, Sunday,  Nov. 22 at 10 p.m. ET. In the second episode, as he investigates the parts of his family that have been kept in the shadows, Madison explores the fallout of his mother and aunts’ involvement in the “Gifting Tables” – a multi-level marketing scheme.

 

• HBO’s drama series, HIS DARK MATERIALS, starring Lin-Manuel Miranda continues its second season Monday, Nov. 23 at 9 p.m. ET. In the second episode, Lyra (Dafne Keen) and Will (Amir Wilson) head to Oxford for answers, and the Magisterium is faced with a choice.

 

• HBO’s new investigative documentary, THE MYSTERY OF D.B. COOPER, premieres, Wednesday, Nov. 25 at 9 p.m. ET. The film brings to life the stories of four individuals fervently believed by their family and friends to be “D.B. Cooper,” the mystery man who hijacked a 727 flying out of Seattle, traded the passengers’ lives for $200,000 and four parachutes, lept from the jet over some of Washington state’s roughest terrain, and was never heard from again. ‌Almost 50 years later, the case continues to confound the FBI and inspire wild speculation, as it remains the only unsolved airplane hijacking in United States history. The film draws from a combination of recreated and archival footage, as well as exclusive interviews with those most connected to the infamous case and its likeliest culprit. ‌
