Crave continues to deliver weekly alerts highlighting new and noteworthy programming and scheduling changes for the week ahead.
Highlights This Week
- A WEST WING SPECIAL TO BENEFIT WHEN WE ALL VOTE from HBO Max is now available on Crave. For the first time in 17 years, the original cast of the Emmy and Peabody® Award-winning hit drama series came together in support of the non-profit, nonpartisan organization When We All Vote. The special features a theatrical stage presentation of the “Hartsfield’s Landing” episode from THE WEST WING’s third season. Samuel L. Jackson, Martin Sheen, Elizabeth Moss, Lin Manuel Miranda, Sterling K. Brown, Rob Lowe, and Alison Janney take the stage in this ground-breaking tribute to the beloved series.
- All five seasons of the Emmy-winning comedy series THE BERNIE MAC SHOW join Crave on November 6. Starring Golden Globe®-nominee Bernie Mac, the family sitcom tells the story of a stand-up comedian (Mac) who suddenly becomes a father when he takes custody of his sister’s three children, Vanessa (Camille Winbush), Jordan (Jeremy Suarez), and Bryana (Dee Dee Davis). Bernie and his wife Wanda (Kellita Smith) quickly learn that raising kids is harder than it looks.
- Jane Austen’s beloved comedy about finding your equal and earning your happy ending is reimagined in the new film, EMMA., which begins streaming on November 6. Handsome, clever, and rich, Emma Woodhouse (Anya Taylor-Joy) is a restless queen bee without rivals in her sleepy little town. In this glittering satire of social class and the pain of growing up, Emma must adventure through misguided matches and romantic missteps to find the love that has been there all along. The cast includes Johnny Flynn (Clouds of Sils Maria), Mia Goth (Suspiria), Callum Turner (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald), and Golden Globe-winner Bill Nighy (Love Actually, Hope Gap).
- Starring contemporary comedy legends Fred Armisen (PORTLANDIA), John C. Reilly (Step Brothers), and Tim Heidecker (TIM AND ERIC AWESOME SHOW), all six episodes of SHOWTIME’s new comedy series MOONBASE 8 drop November 8. Set in the isolated desert of Winslow, Arizona at NASA’s Moon Base Simulator, MOONBASE 8 follows eager astronauts Skip, Rook, and their leader Cap as they attempt to qualify for their first lunar mission. While working vigorously to complete their training, a series of unexpected circumstances forces the astronauts to question their own mental sanity, trust in each other and whether or not they’re cut out for space travel.
- HBO’s new eight-episode drama series INDUSTRY premieres November 9 at 10 p.m. ET. Set in 2008, INDUSTRY follows a group of young graduates competing for a limited number of permanent positions at a leading international investment bank in London. The series gives an insider’s view of the blackbox of “high finance” through the eyes of an outsider, Harper Stern (Myha’la Herrold), a talented young woman from upstate New York. Following a group of young grads fueled by ambition, youth, romance, and drugs, INDUSTRY examines issues of gender, race, class, and privilege in the workplace. The impressionable young minds begin to forge their identities within the pressure cooker environment and sensory blitz of Pierpoint & Co’s trading floor, where meritocracy is promised but hierarchy is king. The cast includes, Myha’la Herrold, Conor MacNeill, Marisa Abela, David Jonsson, Harry Lawtey, and Freya Mavor. This series follows a weekly release schedule, with new episodes premiering Mondays at 10 p.m. ET.
- Crave welcomes back an extensive library of James Bond films with the action-packed 007 Collection, debuting November 10. Fans of the legendary franchise can watch the late Sean Connery, along with Roger Moore, George Lazenby, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig as they take on one of the most iconic roles in cinematic history. What Critics Are Saying about HBO’s docu-comedy HOW TO WITH JOHN WILSON
“
Funny, sad and, in the end, shockingly profound.”
“In a constant state of montage, HOW TO [WITH JOHN WILSON] has the ability to make you snort with laughter, pause in contemplation and even swoon at the poetry of urban space. […] The first season comes together in astonishing and unexpectedly beautiful fashion in the last of six episodes — a piece of narrative unification and compassion that I hadn’t previously thought I wanted, much less needed. The finale is a half-hour of television that turns HOW TO WITH JOHN WILSON from a drolly esoteric curiosity into a special document.”
– Daniel Fienberg,
The Hollywood Reporter
“
‘HOW TO WITH JOHN WILSON’: Where Digression Meets Delight”
“…a show that benefits enormously from devoting your full attention to it […]. In this case, it’s because Wilson has taken the familiar concept of B-roll footage […] and turned it into the best and funniest part of the series. The choices he, his editors […] and his co-writers Michael Koman and Alice Gregory make in terms of what images accompany his narration, and how the two complement one another, is both masterful and hilarious. […] HOW TO [WITH JOHN WILSON] is simultaneously delightful and baffling, until it all fits together perfectly, like that was the plan all along.”
– Alan Sepinwall,
Rolling Stone
“
The Great HOW TO WITH JOHN WILSON Defies Expectation”
“[…] Wilson’s just so great at finding unexpected things, whether they’re surprising conversations with people, or unusual scenes happening on a typical New York street corner, or revelations about Wilson himself. He’s a master at the art of defamiliarizing, of taking the kinds of things that happen all the time and presenting them in a way that lets you see just how strange they are.”
