- BRIA MACK GETS A LIFE wraps up the season with the final three episodes dropping on Friday, Oct, 20. The six-part Crave Original comedy series from Sasha Leigh Henry follows a successful debut at the Toronto International Film Festival and is widely celebrated for its humour and creativity. Praised by CBC for its “off-the-wall look at the experiences of young Black women,” BRIA MACK GETS A LIFE follows the compelling duo, Bria McFarlane (Malaika Hennie- Hamadi) and her hype girl, Black Attack (Hannan Younis), as they take on the world… one microaggression at a time.
OCTOBER 22 – HBO’s AKA MR. CHOW *Documentary*
- HBO’s AKA MR. CHOW details the vibrant and varied life of Michael Chow. Born Zhou Yinghua in 1930s Shanghai, he would use creativity to triumph over childhood trauma, personal loss, and systemic prejudice, growing up to become the actor and artist before inventing a new identity, Mr. Chow, when he opens the first of his iconic restaurants. Revealing a man of extreme creativity and vitality, AKA MR. CHOW debuts Sunday, Oct. 22 at 9 p.m. ET.
OCTOBER 23 – HBO’s 30 COINS *Season 2 Premiere*
- Season 2 of the HBO Original horror series 30 COINS returns with most residents of Pedraza, a remote town in Spain, plagued by inexplicable, demonic events, having lost their minds, and confined to a psychiatric hospital. Elena (Megan Montaner) lies comatose in a Madrid hospital bed, while Paco (Miguel Ángel Silvestre), shattered by remorse, tries to take care of her. As horror intensifies around them, the group of heroes must face a mysterious new enemy (played by Paul Giamatti) – someone so perverse that even the devil fears him. Season 2 premieres Monday, Oct. 23 at 10 m. ET with subsequent episodes dropping on Mondays. The new season also joins Crave’s International TV & Movies Collection, which features other critically acclaimed, international HBO series including BEARTOWN, MY BRILLIANT FRIEND, and THE INVESTIGATION.
