MUST-WATCH TITLES FOR OCTOBER OCTOBER 7 – HBO’s 15 MINUTES OF SHAME * Documentary Premiere*

• The HBO Max original documentary 15 MINUTES OF SHAME is executive produced by Monica Lewinsky and Max Joseph (CATFISH), and premieres Thursday, 7. The documentary is a timely, eye-opening roller-coaster ride through the world of public shaming. It examines social behaviour by embedding with individuals from across the U.S. who have been publicly shamed or cyber-harassed – while exploring the bullies, the bystanders, the media, psychologists, politicians, and experts in between.

OCTOBER 8 – A.RTIFICIAL I.MMORTALITY *Crave Original Documentary Premiere*

• Streaming Friday, Oct. 8, the Crave Original Documentary A.RTIFICIAL I.MMORTALITY explores the possibility of creating an immortal version of oneself. Once a question in science fiction, experts in the fields of artificial intelligence, biotech, and robotics, suggest it will indeed be possible. This revelatory documentary, which was the Opening Night film at the 2021 Hot Docs Festival, explores the latest technological advancements with visionaries including: Nick Bostrom, author of Superintelligence; Hiroshi Ishiguro, developer of his own uncannily realistic clone Geminoid; Douglas Rushkoff, author of Team Human; Ben Goertzel, founder of Singularity.net, who coined the term Artificial General Intelligence; and Deepak Chopra, who is creating his own A.I. mind twin.

OCTOBER 11 – HBO’s WE’RE HERE *Season 2 Premiere*

• The Emmy^®-nominated unscripted series WE’RE HERE returns for its eight-episode, second season Monday, Oct. 11 at 9 p.m. ET. Debuting on National Coming Out Day, this season follows renowned drag queens Bob the Drag Queen, Eureka O’Hara, and Shangela, as they continue their journey spreading love and connection across small-town America, through the art of drag. As the queens recruit local residents from Spartanburg, SC, Temecula, CA, Del Rio, TX, Selma, AL, Evansville, IN, Watertown, SD, Kona, HI, and Grand Junction, CO to participate in one-night-only drag shows, they inspire their “drag daughters” to express their genuine selves in front of their families, friends, and communities. WE’RE HERE follows a weekly release schedule, with new episodes dropping Mondays at 9 p.m. ET.

OCTOBER 14 – CANADA’S DRAG RACE *Season 2 Premiere*

• The award-winning Crave Original series CANADA’S DRAG RACE returns on Thursday, Oct. 14 at 9 p.m. ET for its 10-episode sophomore season, and follows the journey of 12 fierce and fiery Canadian queens as they compete for the title of “Canada’s Next Drag Superstar.” Each episode tests the queen’s talents, and challenges them to master singing, dancing, acting, impersonations, costume making, and improvisation. Judging CANADA’S DRAG RACE this season is a panel of four homegrown icons, including Brooke Lynn Hytes, Brad Goreski, Amanda Brugel, and Traci Melchor – who are joined every week by a celebrity guest judge. One competitor is eliminated at the end of each episode, until one queen is left standing. New episodes of the one-hour original competition series roll out Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET.

  OCTOBER 17 – STARZ’s HIGHTOWN *Season 2 Premiere*

• The picture-perfect summer on Cape Cod clashes with its off-season reality when the second season of STARZ drama HIGHTOWN premieres Sunday, 17. Jackie Quinones (Monica Raymund) a hard-partying National Marine Fisheries Service agent with dreams of being a cop, is thrust immediately into the crime wave of deadly carfentanyl flooding the Cape. This season, Jackie is laser-focused on bringing down drug dealer Frankie Cuevas (Amaury Nolasco), the man she holds responsible for the death of her best friend, Junior. When Frankie’s cousin Jorge (Luis Guzmán) joins his operation, he introduces a new level of violence and chaos. With disgraced officer Ray Abruzzo (James Badge Dale) off the force and mired in depression, Jackie finds a new partner in Leslie (Tonya Glanz), the only other female on the force. Through it all, Jackie must walk the tightrope of sobriety as she struggles to stay above an ocean of secrets, betrayal and the shame and failure of her past.

OCTOBER 17 – HBO’s SUCCESSION *Season 3 Premiere*

• The highly anticipated third season of HBO’s Emmy^®-winning drama SUCCESSION premieres on Sunday, Oct. 17 at 9 p.m. ET. The critically acclaimed series, depicting the hyper-wealthy and hyper-depraved Roy family, returns with guns blazing after its bombshell Season 2 ending. Ambushed by his rebellious son Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Logan Roy (Brian Cox) begins the new season in a perilous position. Scrambling to secure familial, political, and financial alliances, tensions rise as a bitter corporate battle threatens to turn into a family civil war. OCTOBER 22 – OSCAR PETERSON: BLACK + WHITE *Crave Original Documentary Premiere*

• Following its recent World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, Barry Avrich’s OSCAR PETERSON: BLACK + WHITE premieres on Friday, Oct. 22. The Crave Original Documentary is a celebration of Montréal-born musician, Oscar Peterson, and charts his rise to prominence and legendary proficiency as a jazz pianist. The film is packed with musical moments and interviews with Peterson, as well as those he inspired and mentored, including Herbie Hancock, Billy Joel, Branford Marsalis, Measha Brueggergosman, Joe Sealy, Robi Botos, and Oscar^® winner Jon Batiste.

OCTOBER 24 – HBO’s INSECURE *Season 5 Premiere*

• All good things must come to an end, as the Emmy-nominated HBO series INSECURE returns for its fifth and final season on Sunday, Oct. 24 at 10 p.m. ET. Starring NAACP Image Award winner and six-time Emmy^® and Golden Globe^® Award nominee Issa Rae, the series follows African-American best friends as they evaluate their relationships, both new and old, in an effort to figure out who and what comes with them in this next phase of their lives. • Prettaaaay, prettaaaay, prettaaaay good news: Season 11 of CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM premieres this October (date TBA). The HBO comedy series stars SEINFELD co-creator Larry David as an over-the-top version of himself in an unsparing but tongue-in-cheek depiction of his fictionalized life. • The female-led Australian series THE UNUSUAL SUSPECTS premieres Friday, Oct. 1. The heist drama starring Miranda Otto (RIVERDALE) follows the theft of a multi-million-dollar necklace, and the women from different walks of life who come together to ensure that justice is served.

OCTOBER 15 –SPIRAL: FROM THE BOOK OF SAW *Movie Premiere*

• Just in time for Halloween, the ninth installment of the Saw film franchise SPIRAL: FROM THE BOOK OF SAW, starring Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson streams Friday, Oct. 15 on STARZ. Working in the shadow of his father, Detective Ezekiel “Zeke” Banks (Chris Rock) and his rookie partner William Schenk (Max Minghella) take charge of an investigation into grisly murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past. Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer’s morbid game. To see the game from the beginning all films in the Saw franchise are available to stream on STARZ.

OCTOBER 18 – SHOWTIME’S WAKEFIELD *Series Premiere*

• Australian drama series WAKEFIELD, starring British actor Rudi Dharmalingam premieres Monday, Oct. 18 at 9 p.m. ET. The eight-episode season is a psychological drama that shines a comedic light on what happens when the sanest individual working in a psych ward begins to lose his grip. Inspired by show creator Kristen Dunphy’s personal experiences, WAKEFIELD follows Nik Katira (Dharmalingam) who after years working as psych nurse at Wakefield, is exceptionally good at his job. • Based on a true chilling story of terror, murder, and unknown evil, THE CONJURING: THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT premieres Halloween weekend Friday Oct. 29. Paranormal investigators Ed (Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine Warren (Vera Farmiga) take on one of the most sensational cases of their careers after a cop stumbles upon a dazed and bloodied young man walking down the road.
