OCTOBER 7 – SHOWTIME’S LET THE RIGHT ONE IN *Series Premiere*
- Inspired by the original Swedish novel and film of the same name, the 10-part thriller drama LET THE RIGHT ONE IN centres on Mark (Demián Bichir), and his daughter Eleanor (Madison Taylor Baez), whose lives were changed 10 years earlier when she was turned into a vampire. Locked in at age 12, perhaps forever, Eleanor lives a closed-in life, able to go out only at night, while her father does his best to provide her with the human blood she needs to stay alive. The 10-episode series follows a weekly release schedule with new episodes dropping Thursdays.
OCTOBER 8 – SESAME STREET *Season 52*
- The 35-episode, 52nd season of SESAME STREET lands on Crave on Saturday, Oct. 8. This season welcomes Tango, Elmo’s new adopted puppy, to the Street, where she debuts as a live-action Sesame Street Muppet. Season 52 continues a playful problem-solving curriculum, designed to build critical thinking skills in young children and equip them to handle challenges in school and beyond. As characters and kids approach challenges creatively, they repeat the phrase “I Wonder…What if…Let’s Try!” This framework for finding solutions is used in Street Stories, interstitials, and Elmo & Tango’s Mysterious Mysteries segments. Celebrity and special guests include Jon Batiste, Kacey Musgraves, Naomi Osaka, astronaut Dr. Mae Jemison, Amanda Gorman, Keke Palmer, and Billie Eilish.
OCTOBER 8 – MECHA BUILDERS *Series Premiere*
- Season 1 of Sesame Street’s all-new series MECHA BUILDERS reimagines Elmo, Cookie Monster, and Abby Cadabby as robot heroes-in-training who use their Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics superpowers to solve wacky larger-than-life problems. Animated in a dynamic 3D style, the series helps older preschoolers practice foundational critical thinking skills while laughing along with their Sesame Street friends.
OCTOBER 8 – THE RACCOONS *Seasons 1 and 2*
- Four decades after its original launch on Canadian television, the award-winning animated series THE RACCOONS returns for a new generation to enjoy, with Seasons 1 and 2 dropping on Saturday, Oct. 8. Digitally remastered and restored, THE RACCOONS follows the day-to-day life of three raccoons, Bert, Melissa, and Ralph; their friend Cedric the aardvark; and his Dad, Cyril Sneer, whose hunger for a quick fortune causes many conflicts inside The Evergreen Forest. Seasons 3, 4, and 5, plus four animated specials, are also slated to premiere on Crave soon.
OCTOBER 10 – HBO’s AVENUE 5 *Season 2 Premiere*
- Created by two-time Emmy® winner Armando Iannucci (VEEP), HBO’s AVENUE 5 returns for its eight-episode, second season. The comedy series is set 40 years in the future, when travelling the solar system is no longer the stuff of sci-fi fantasy, but a booming, multibillion-dollar business. While manning a luxury spacecraft owned by Herman Judd (Josh Gad), Captain Ryan Clark (Hugh Laurie) finds himself in over his head, when the ship is thrown disastrously off-course, turning what was meant to be an eight-week cruise into an eight-year journey. Picking up five months after failing to reroute the vessel, Season 2 follows the crew, including fiery engineer Billie (Lenora Crichlow); unpredictable head of customer relations Matt (Zach Woods); and faithful right-hand Iris (Suzy Nakamura), as they struggle to lead, calm, control, and, if need be, hide from increasingly unruly passengers. On earth, they’re lauded as heroes, and in space, everyone can hear them scream. The series follows a weekly release schedule, with new episodes dropping Mondays at 10 p.m. ET.
OCTOBER 11 – HBO’s 38 AT THE GARDEN *Documentary Premiere*
- HBO’s 38 AT THE GARDEN chronicles the extraordinary ascendance of point guard and former Toronto Raptor Jeremy Lin during his landmark 2012 season with the New York Knicks. Lin, an undrafted Harvard graduate, shocked fans, stunned his teammates, and galvanized the Asian American community when he scored 38 points at Madison Square Garden against the Los Angeles Lakers, solidifying his hot streak, and the “Linsanity” craze. A decade later, Lin’s stature as a groundbreaking, cultural icon stands in stark relief to the recent hate crimes against the Asian American and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) community. The documentary debuts Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 9 p.m. ET.
