Taking action to support their local community and those in need during COVID-19, Virgin Radio Edmonton’s
VIRGIN MORNING SHOW WITH CRUISE, BRITT, AND KATIE recently launched the online donation drive,
Feed Your Friends, for the Edmonton Food Bank, one of dozens of similar initiatives being undertaken by Bell Media Radio Stations across the country. With the goal of raising a total of $10,000, hundreds of donations have rolled in from Canadians across the country, including from some major celebrities.
Canadian actor
Ryan Reynolds responded to a
tweet from Virgin Radio Edmonton and generously donated $4,000 in memory of an Edmonton boy who passed away from cancer a few years ago. Reynolds’ donation resulted in the team immediately reaching their fundraising goal of $10,000 for the Edmonton Food Bank.

Star of CTV’s
THE ROOKIE, Edmonton-native
Nathan Fillion also surprised the Virgin Radio Edmonton team with an incredible $5,000 donation last week and thanked the Edmonton Food Bank for all that they do.

Edmonton Oilers defenseman,
Darnell Nurse also responded to Virgin Radio Edmonton’s call to action by donating $5000 to Feed Your Friends, urging everyone to stay safe and continue helping others.

104.9 Virgin Radio’s Feed Your Friends donation drive has reached almost $32,000, more than $20,000 over its original goal, and remains active until April 24. For those interested in supporting the drive, please visit the
Feed Your Friends donation page.
