SEPTEMBER 15 – BROTHER *Movie Premiere*

• From director Clement Virgo, and Winner of 12 Canadian Screen Awards, including Best Picture and Best Direction, BROTHER is propelled by the pulsing beats of Toronto’s early hip hop scene as it follows the story of Francis (Lamar Johnson) and Michael (Aaron Pierre), sons of Caribbean immigrants maturing into young men. A mystery unfolds during the sweltering summer of 1991, and escalating tensions set off a series of events that change the course of these brothers’ lives forever. Following a worldwide premiere at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival and as seen in Crave’s Best of TIFF collection, BROTHER crafts a timely story about the profound bond between siblings, the resilience of community, and the irrepressible power of music.

SEPTEMBER 15 – TÁR *Movie Premiere*

• Produced, written, and directed by Todd Field, TÁR stars Cate Blanchett who was nominated for an Oscar^® for Best Actress in a Leading Role for the film. The film, set in the international world of classical music, centres on Lydia Tár (Blanchett), who is widely considered one of the greatest living composers-conductors, and the first-ever female chief conductor of a major German orchestra.

SEPTEMBER 15 – STARZ’s HEELS *Season Finale*

• The STARZ Original series HEELS wraps up it’s sophomore season on Friday, Sept. 15. Praised by Variety for its magnetic ensemble cast, HEELS is set in a close-knit Georgia community where brothers and rivals Jack Spade (Stephen Amell) and Ace Spade (Alexander Ludwig) war over their late father’s wrestling promotion and compete for national attention.

SEPTEMBER 17 – HBO’s WINNING TIME: THE RISE OF THE LAKERS DYNASTY *Season Finale*

• The Season 2 finale of HBO’s celebrated sports drama WINNING TIME: THE RISE OF THE LAKERS DYNASTY streams Sunday, Sept. 17 at 9 p.m. The series has been hailed by Vulture as an “…entertaining version of the molding of a legendary basketball team,” with Season 2 exploring the professional and personal lives of the 1980s Los Angeles Lakers. Honing in on the period just after the NBA Finals from 1980, and running through 1984, culminating in the first professional rematch of the era’s greatest stars: Magic Johnson and Larry Bird.
