Created and produced by Jemaine Clement (FLIGHT OF THE CONCORDS) and Taika Waititi (Jojo Rabbit) as a spinoff of their critically-acclaimed cult film What We Do in the Shadows, WELLINGTON PARANORMAL follows the adventures of Officers O’Leary (Karen O’Leary, What We Do in the Shadows) and Minogue (Mike Minogue, What We Do in the Shadows), hard-working members of the Wellington constabulary’s paranormal unit. Under the supervision of Sergeant Maaka (Maaka Pohatu, Savage), the officers investigate supernatural occurrences that arise in the capital of New Zealand on a surprisingly regular basis.
SEPTEMBER 3 – SHOWTIME’s BITCHIN’: THE SOUND AND FURY OF RICK JAMES *Documentary Premiere*
  • Streaming Friday, September 3 at 9 p.m. ET is the new SHOWTIME documentary BITCHIN’: THE SOUND AND FURY OF RICK JAMES. From Emmy®-nominee Sacha Jenkins (WU-TANG CLAN: OF MICS AND MEN), the documentary is a raw and intimate look at one of R&B’s most legendary and controversial figures, charting his soaring artistic success and eventual personal decline. Blazing new trails in American music and global culture in the ’70s and ’80s as a songwriter, performer, and producer, James collaborated with Canadian luminaries such as Joni Mitchell and Neil Young, who he would later collaborate with on the R&B band The Mynah Birds. The documentary features rare footage of James’ incredible live shows, never-before-seen home videos, original interviews with legendary artists, collaborators, and friends, and a treasure trove of recorded interviews with James (who died in 2004).

  • The fifth season of SHOWTIME’s hit drama series BILLIONS continues Sunday, September 5 at 9 p.m. ET. In the midseason premiere, Axe (Lewis) dispatches Wags (David Constabile, SUITS) to dig up dirt on Prince (Stoll), discovering a weakness that could wreck Prince’s ambitions. A visit to Axe Capital puts Wendy (Maggie Siff, SONS OF ANARCHY) and Tanner (Frank Grillo, KINGDOM) at odds. Chuck (Giamatti) looks for alternative methods to save his father, but a college-aged mistake threatens to sidetrack him. BILLIONS follows a weekly release schedule, with new episodes dropping Sundays at 9 p.m. ET.
